Official Orange Club II

I did order a tube set today for the AD200. It needs a new Jack and some other work so I figured I'd have it retubed too.
I don't have my experience with tube sets so if anyone has any info on what I grabbed that would be great.

I just gassed out and ordered two minis from PAS, along with a 4stroke 300.
sorry WG, GAS got the best of me
That might be a good thing as I already have enough cabs. But.........

I was tempted by the 4 stroke but bailed on the 300 watts and the fact I have a bunch of other amps right now.

You might be surprised how powerful those 300 watts appear to be. I wouldn't be surprised if it is louder than my GK 700rb II. It is definitely thicker and more pronounced.

JJs are generally good. Valves are produced in few factories, so brands are usually just buying from the same source and doing QC. JJ has good QC. I am more into the sound of KT88s than 6550s, but that's just personal preference.

Well I just spoke to ProAudioStar to order 2 Orange OBC210 Mini's and they are down to only 1. :(
So if anybody wants 1, they better order it now.

I ordered the second to last one this morning around 10am (est) :/

I wanted a smaller 210 for my OBC115. I still want one in black to match my 115 but I didn't want to wait around for one.

Glad to here you are digging yours, outoftune. Did you have a good experience with PAS?

That's great, things happen for a reason. Hope you like it and you need to take a picture of it when you get it.

Will do. I'm new to Orange as far as their gear. Was looking for a new setup a couple months back and decided to take a shot in the dark with the OBC115. It's part of my first non-combo rig. Absolutely love it and I'm extremely pleased with my decision.

Nothing wrong to speak of but their shipping is kind of slow. Takes a few days to ship but where I am located it delivers in a day.

Got the OBC210 Mini in yesterday. Extremely satisfied with the quality of these cabs. I've been having a lot of fun with my current setup and would highly recommend these mini cabs if any come up on the market. I still want the same mini in black Tolex but it isn't really a big deal, just my weird obsessiveness to have things like this match.

How well does the 210 Mini pair with the 115?

How well does the 210 Mini pair with the 115?

They pair quite well. I haven't had a chance to play with this setup in a band type setting as of yet as both cabs are relatively new to me (and with everything going on). At home practicing sitting, the 2x10 is more head-level to my positioning so the tonal nuances have not been as apparent especially at lower volume levels without taking that into consideration. But there is noticeable clarity in upper registers with the addition. It definitely changed a little how I initially play as far as noodling around and hearing different responses from when I was just playing with the 1x15. Still need a lot more time with the combination but am very pleased and would not hesitate to purchase one again (if I found one in black :) ). This is also my first non - one speaker combo setup, so most things about the rig are new to me lol.

Well just got my first Orange amp in the mail yesterday before band practice. Took the bait and bought a four stroke. Had A decent sound pretty quickly and was surprised at the volume you can get with the 300 watt version. It killed it in practice and was plenty happy with the tone. Excited to keep running it through its paces. And for reference ran it through a 4ohm Berg cn212.

I finally got the amp/rig I've been wanting for years now. It's not the AD200 but maybe someday. I got the new Terror 500 that I have been GASing over for so long they discontinued and reissued it! First I hooked it to my Peavey 410(4ohm), what a rocking, loud clean rig. My big Trace Elliot I love, but this amp really lets the qualities of each bass shine through, and the tonal options due to the true tube pre-amp I love! I then purchased the 112 for the advertised portability. I found it to have a fairly singular sound like its at the end of a long tube, I sent it back. I then bought a 210 mini which has a far more versatile sound IMO, cranks by itself. I then paired it with a 115 and this rig is everything I dreamed and expected from Orange.
Do I get a number now?
Cheers!

So we are back to gigging again although with COVID19 restrictions of 50% capacity. Anyway I was finally able to gig the 4 Stroke 300 and came away with some gigging impressions.

Pros: Great tone with a hint of drive, not too heavy at 20+ plus pounds, lots of authority and volume galore.

Cons: the notch detents on the master volume and excessive boost in volume on each detent.

I again was really surprised at the volume of this thing at low settings. At 7:00 you go from off to loud. 7:30 it becomes gig level loud and at 8:00 it is too loud. Crazy! And I play in a loud hard rock band.

To be fair I was running 2 high output basses, but volume difference on each detent is ridiculous. As an example my Genz Benz NEO PAK 3.5 would have been running out of steam at last nights volume while the Orange was cruising at 7:30 master.

So that brings up the question, is that the nature of this amp or could mine actually be defective? I can't believe I am complaining, but there actually venues where I may not be able to use this head unless I run low output basses or just a 115 cab at 8 ohms? Large venues and Casinos would be no problem.

4 Stroke owners feel free to give me your impressions because I am seriously thinking about trying to return it. Don't really want to, but the Terror Bass can handle any gig that comes up big or small while my 4 Stroke could actually be too much for certain gigs.

Anyway, pics or it didn't happen.

Oh yeah, the shirts table was placed by the venue to separate us from the crowd for COVID19 restrictions.

The current compliment of Oranges for me:
OB1-500 w/ OBC115 & Eden XLT210 (shoulda got the 4 Stroke I think)

OR50 & PPC212 w/ G12H 55Hz & G12 Gold (awesome for guitar & a major part of my favorite bass drive sounds I think I've made so far):

TremLord 30 (cool "if Orange made amps in the 50s" experience for guitars):
