Anyone running the OBC115 here? I was planning on TB plus two OBC112s, but there is an OBC115 for sale locally for $200 under MSRP that I am considering.

Love my OBC115! I pair it with my OBC210 mini, which they compliment each other well. That seems like a great price. It is worth noting that the 115's structural dimensions are different from the OBC112, incase you plan to run something stacked in addition to the 115. Of course that's just aesthetically speaking

Thanks! I was wanting to stack OBC112s, but if I get this 115, maybe I'll just stack those. I need to check out measurements to make sure it fits in my car as well.

Yep, me too. I ran 1 OBC115 for a short time and ended up getting a second one. 1 is more than plenty, but I like the sound of 2. They are very nice, loud 115's and 2 stacked together makes for a pretty formidable rig. But I also have to say that they are not an easy schlep which is why I put castors on one of them so that I can roll the stack around much easier.

Extremely good price, even. List price around here is over $ 800. If it is in working order, I'd get it just out of principle.

(I still play 2 x OCB 112, but those 115 are something I really need to look into. Once the income situation is over the pandemic, and/or I stumble over such a sweet deal.)

Possible AD200B issue:

so I just powered up my new AD200B (actually it’s the replacement as the first was defective).

I let it warm up and then took it off standby.. while looking at the power tubes I noticed the fuse light on for power tubes 2+4 which is indicating those tubes being faulty.

what should I do?

My thought is to replace the fuse one time in case the fuse itself was faulty. If it blows again, contact the folks you got the amp from to report the problem.

If others think this is bad advice, please say so!

Feel free to completely dump on me for this question, but is the Terror Bass a good option for those of us who are interested in some tonal variety? I know Orange is known for their sound which is very friendly to rock and metal, a nice overdriven tone with crunch. However, does anyone have any issues dialing in a nice jazz or Motown sound with their TB? I am looking at new amps, and want to be able to utilize my fretless Jazz with whatever amp I play, while also being able to jam with Sleep and Deep Purple songs like I usually do.

I think the Terror Bass 500 will be versatile enough for anything I will ever need to do. However, if I didn’t want the Terror Bass’s tube drive (and I do), I would take a hard look at the Little Bass Thing. No tubes, lightweight, a powerhouse, semi-parametric mid, and on-board compression.

Sorry I couldn't answer earlier, Talkbass wasn't working properly until yesterday for me. Yes, the new Terror would work for Jazz and Motown with the clean switch. Else, as Flatwound pointed out, I would take a look at the Little Bass Thing. I had the old Terror and I have the Little Bass Thing. Even if I am still longing for a new Terror, I can't think of any scenario where I would need it that is not covered with either the AD200B, the LBT or the Butler or a combination of two of them.
My new favourite thing to do is run the AD to the speakers, the slave out into the effects in of the LBT and the D.I. out of the LBT.

First, replace the fuse, power it up again, idle for 10 minutes. Turn the play switch on, wait for 10 minutes or until the fuse lights on again. If it does, the tubes are most probable faulty and need to be replaced. I would recommend a bias check too.

just heard back from SweetWater and they are going to send my a replacement AD200B since it’s still under the 90 day warranty.

In the mean time.. here’s the cab (1x15) and ultimately my rig setup.

Is the 15" speaker and cab that comes with the OB1-300C different than the 15" OBC115? I'm trying to decide if it makes more financial sense to buy the combo or the head/cab.

I think they are not exactly the same, but very very similar. Kappa 15 on the 115 and OEM Eminence on the OB1.

yes you can run both those cabs together. I would definitely try them together to hear if you like how they mix together.

Thanks. Unfortunately wouldn’t get a chance to try them due to C19 lockdowns... I assume the 115 is more bass heavy than the 112. Does the front porting make any difference to the tone do you know?

115s are more low mid heavy than 112s, they are also louder. I am not a fan of mixing cabs, but if it sounds good, go for it.
