Official Peavey GV club!

Anybody else notice the 2 GVs on GC's used site recently? One black, one sunburst. Sunburst is $629. The black one is $599 says condition "fair" and looks like it has a weird pickup mod. I emailed them about it to get more details and got no response. GC are jerks and I hate buying from them, but they have good deals sometimes.

Also, I've now found the reason there are almost none of these on the market! Some of you guys have 5 of these? 5? If you play all of them regularly, ok. Otherwise, boo!!!

Cool! Thx for the offer. Just bought 2 basses last month ;). But, wish I hadn't now. Will probably be looking to buy again early next year.

Also, just joking around mostly. If I had the cash, I'd probably have 5 of these in my closet too, hehe.

Ha! Me too, but I'm not looking to sell atm. It's my one and only 5. If I ever got serious about a transition to a 5, this would be it.

After having switched to a 5 string about five years ago, and now to a 6 string, I can barely play a 4 string any more. I just don't get it. Like, do people enjoy having to drop D their basses for songs? I'd never want to be with out that low B string ever again. Just makes your range so much more versatile, even if it's just for one or two notes in a song that you use it, it adds so much.

I remember before I went to 5 that my main concern was being able to play fast open stuff on the E and the B string getting in the way, but that just didn't happen.

I'm in the same boat. I wonder if the the tuners from a USA Millennium will drop right in. I prefer the black tuner heads with the satin chrome base. I checked Hipshot's website and didn't see that option. I've been loving my GV so far, however, I'm not in love with the look of the chrome tuners.

Come to think of it, I agree that the ones with the black keys would look a lot nicer on my GV. The bridge is black with chrome saddles. Those Gotoh knockoffs still work smoother than Hipshots... I've always preferred Gotohs over Hipshots anyway. I wonder if the keys themselves are available and/or interchangeable.

Gotoh does make a "carbon fiber" design on the clover style that looks pretty cool. I'd spring for the GB's if they had the same print style. I think that would look slick as snot on the Peavey.

Edit: Sources say these have actual carbon fiber composite. :woot:
