Thanks for that. I've e-mailed them in Korea & one of their listed dealerships in Ireland. Fingers crossed I can buy a new TB05B!

Well, i've had this baby for a little while now and I have to say, it's really a super nice bass!

I was originally drawn in by the color -- it just looked "sexy", and I kept looking at it off and on. Finally pulled the trigger and I have no regrets. Bass is in fantastic shape, has excellent tone, and looks superb. also, light light light! wow!

Been fighting a chest infection all week and a snooze last night turned into a slumber till 2 am so decided to take the weekend off work. What can you do at 2 am though ?

Start fixing up your Maniac that's what :D Went for a brush on wax finish,and 6 coats later I was happy.
Not much fun after that though. 2 intonation screws were rusted beyond all hope as were the grub screws
so rooting in the spares box saw 2 saddles replaced.The original Gotoh tuners had sleeves on the posts but
they were missing so the idea was use Gotoh off an old Westone. There was a couple of them bent :thumbsdown: so the
sleeves were cannibalised onto the originals.

Just the waterslide decal to print and apply:hyper: I'll never get a date for this Maniac as there's no serial anywhere
only clue to origin is the "made in Japan" sticker on control cavity cover but my guess is early to mid 90s. I've had
it over a year and previous owner had it 10 year,it was partially stripped when he got it. Pickups say Tune Guitar
Tech. Thankfully it only cost me £100 cause I've put plenty hours in sanding out the matt black finish it had.

Had a bit of spare time on saturday and went shopping in Tokyo. Mostly Fenders and Gibsons in Ochanomizu, but eventually found a nice collection of japanese Tune basses in Shibuya. The shop had five TWBs next to each other and i played around with two of them. They sound fantastic, even with the impressive preamp in the neutral setting. Also the handling is excellent (except when sitting without a strap, then the lower horn pokes a hole in your thigh after five minutes), as is the build quality, could not really discover a flaw yet. The only thing missing for perfection from my perspective is that they put in chrome switches with black and gold hardware, but that is easily fixed and just cosmetics.

I went for the natural walnut top TWB 5 Custom Hybrid III as i'm not really a fan of buckeye burl (which also made the TWB's about 30-40% more expensive). My serial number is in the low 15000, the bass was made 12/2015. The installed preamp is the new smaller version, potted in brown paint/epoxy and supplied via two 9V batteries.

Very happy with this one, feels like a keeper and sounds like a beast, lots of presence.

I wish that I could walk into a store stateside and see those beauties hanging on the wall.
Instead of the same'ol same'ol.

Hmmm..may have to investigate the new preamp.

You have no idea how close I came... :D

The only thing that stopped me was the feeling I just had too many basses right now, not the price.

Just bought this the other day and the person I bought it off didn't know a lot about it. It has an 3 piece maple neck with an ebony fingerboard and a mahogany body with what I think is a walnut top. It has Tune Guitar Technology written
on the pickups and the machine heads and the serial no is 307166. If someone out there could tell me the model, the year and where it was made that would be great.

6 digit serial number means it's a japanese one and not a korean one from what I understand, you could try contacing TUNE japan and see if they can help you out.
