Would depend how they feel about alterations. Since not being able to sell it I've switched the preamp to an Aguilar OBP-3, the tuners to Hipshot Ultralites, and the control knobs with wooden ones that blend with the body.

Yeah.
Relocating the horn peg to the back of the neck is risky.
You can hit the truss rod.
Plus it gets in the thumbs way.
The dark spots and the light circle are former peg holes.The light circle is were the screw hit the truss rod and broke off.
Had to dig a sizable hole to get it out.
I then plugged it with dowel.
Are you trying to cancel neck dive?
Try a Comfort Strapp.

I have had one of these for around 30 years, It has recently developed a hum I think it needs a new preamp. any idearsHello Steve (and all the other Tune fans), here an update about my new girlfriend! A month ago she was offered at the internet as a TBJ-41 for 450 euro. I wrote the guy a mail and told him that this was a SB-4 RRS and that I liked it, but his price was too high. Well, the bass is worth that money but the Tune market is not so good (great fot buying one, bad for selling one). Anyway, he wrote me back and said I could pick it up in Amsterdam for 200 euro.
The bass was in a horrible state, it seemed that it had never been polished. It missed one knob and the neck had a enormous backbow so they had set the strings into the highest position, they buzzed anyway. The pick-ups were unstable because of the dried up rubbers underneath it. I decided to adopt this poor one and took it home. I was very worried about the trustrod
At home, I First took the strings of and start to polish the frets and nut with a regular metal polish. Wow, I could almost see myself in the frets, and they are in a good state. Then I cleaned the fingerboard with grandmothers solid dark brown beeswax. I like that stuff, it cleanes, protects and give a nice dark tint. You can also snif it if you dont mind the braindamage. 90% of the scratches on the body seemed to be scratches in the dirt-layer so after polishing the bass it looked almost new! Wow, what a beauty, I like that colour!
I ordered three new identical knobs, new black pickguard screws, two chrome Gotoh curtpins (there were two ugly gold coloured curtpins on it) and replaced the rubbers underneath de pick-ups. A new set Ernie Ball 3834 (coated bass strings 0.45-100) did the rest.
Now it was time to turn the trustrod .. A little shakey I started to turn it against the clock, each day a little bit. And yes, it worked!!!!!
Everything is allright now and the Syncron plays very well. I can't wait till my first gig to play it.
I also have two new Bassmaniacs, a TB PSW (well, its more yellow after all those years) with EMG pickups and a beautifull purple sunburst STB. I can send pictures of these if you like.
Here a pic of my new Syncron (I noticed that they are very rare, not much hints at Google), I'm very pleased with it.

It just seem to fit different than all the other bases I've owned.
It's been modded with Bart pups and Retro Deluxe. Sounds killer.
I still haven't really decided yet, both the Tune & 706 are very solid basses, it seems. The Tune is certainly less common and more unique around these parts. I will just need to direct my wife on what to get for my "birthday surprise" in a few weeks.
In the unlikely event I should have any issues with the bass, how is VSN to deal with, with them in CN & me in the US? If I should need any any parts, et., what would be the route? I have a good luthier in my city to do the work.
How's the build/construction quality on the Tune TWB63?
I've had no issues with the construction of any TWB that I've owned.
They tend to be a bit neck heavy,but that is alleviated with a thick,wide strap.
As for parts,you can tap VSN Guitars on page 52.
Ok, cool. I like hearing feedback from people with first hand experience, so thanks for that.
I have a couple of 4" wide Ergo straps, so I've got that covered. I usually play sitting down most of the time anyway these days.
I don't anticipate the need for parts, but that'll be good for reference.
While I like both basses and would be happy with either, I like that the Tune is less common and a bit more unique. I would definitely switch out the rounds for flats though.

Why did they put the strap button on the underside of the horn? Maybe it's just me, but it seems they could have placed it in a different spot. I would have put it on the end or the backside of the horn, unless there's a good reason not to that I'm missing. My Ergo Strap works pretty well. I've never looked into the comfort strapp, though. How are they?

Is there a way to know what color goes where on a 3 way on-on-on switch? I’m a little new at wiring and not sure what color goes hot and ground
