Who needs numbers ?Hell, I lost count.
I do agree with this sentiment! We are the select few with fantastic taste in basses![]()
Try the pickup cavity and see if anything is on the underside of the backplate. My Phoenix's SN is there.Nothing there? Maybe it was removed.
Just 3 pots would suggest passive but my gut feeling says otherwise, though Google threw up 2 passive versions.I scoured this thread, with no luck. Anyone else have this model (Tune Sominus Zi-II) or know about the pre-amp?
Thank you in advance for any help.
Just walked out of the store with this - anyone know what model? Plays and feels boutique. Looks older and well used View attachment 3521302
Catalog says I’m in my forties...I'd say it's a white man, 30s, maybe not boutique but they're all slightly different
Clearly you've been well maintained. Take the win!Catalog says I’m in my forties...![]()
Welcome!Catalog says I’m in my forties...![]()
Thank you sir!Welcome!
No way! I just strapped it on with a basic strap and found the placement and balance just right, as ugly as it is...I may keep it. I had also considered making a filler piece and repairing it.So YOU brought THAT one!
I saw that on the GC online site.
Althought I didn't have the funds at the time,I was trying to figure out how to replace and repare that gouge if I bought it.
thanks for the pic. The shop replaced the battery and all was well. I am surprised that the bridge pickup worked well with no juice? Seems an odd failure mode. The preamp does in fact affect the bridge pickup when soloed now though. There was some crackling with an older cable I just tried at home — I wonder if the output jack switch has issues that drained the battery. Afraid to gig it until I know for sure.No sound from the neck p/u?
Check the gainpots on the preamp.
The neck pickup may be turned off.
beautiful. If the serial # starts with an "S" it's Korean.
Japanese Tune bass serial # either are all numbers or have nothing at all.
Yours is 2006.
S"06"
Here's mine.
A TWB63WN.
Converted to fretless.
It has walnut top and mahogany body.
Yours may be either walnut (TWB63WN)or ovangkol(TWB63OB).

On the back should be 4 holes in the cavity cover. Below them will be trim pots for bass, mid and high. Guessing the 4th trimpot will be mid frequency. Possibly the tone is push/pull for passive/active with the active preset by trimpots.
YT has this.
