Hi Guys,
The output on my Zi752 has stopped. I replaced the battery and opened the hatch to see if there was any loose wires or burn marks on the curcuit board. The guitar is new but manufactured in 2013 so has been in storage for 6 years.
It worked fine last time. It must have blown when I unplugged it from my amp.
Any ideas guys?

Just on the off chance, did you check the cable? Other than that, check the capacitors by wiggling them, (and any other components). Just to be safe, ground yourself first.

Check you didn't disturb the +/- wires going to the jack socket when you unplugged it last.

Thanks. Its a new cable and I also tried another cable to no avail.

Thanks. I might check output jack with multimeter. Right now Im stumped.
All the solder joints look shiny and new, no cold solder joints or corrosion on board.
Anyone else experience this?
Theres nothing fancy on the circuit board either.

Probably switch inside output jack. When you plug cable it should connect +9 (18) V to the board itself. ( I think it's red and black cable going to it, But, not sure. Probably corroded switch (I hope)

Found it. Dodgy input jack.
Should I pull it out and fiddle or source an aftermarket one?
Are these known to be dodgy?

OK. So, that is an OUTPUT. I am not sure how common is. I have never seen something like that in electronic stores. I knew, it must be it. There is a switch inside it, that connects board to the battery when you plug in cable in it. Good luck finding it. Actual name for it is:
Cylinder Flush Mount Mono Output Jack

Shouldn't be too hard to find. I believe Switchcraft makes them.

Yeah, lousy design from the get go. With the more common "open" socket you can bend the contacts,with the barrel type you've no option but replace.

Make sure you buy the stereo type.

Got Blackie back from the luthier and it now has new Epic Custom passive pickups and light gauge DR Black Beauties strings. Plays great, sounds great, looks great!
