I've got 1+. :D

Although I received my 3rd custom order before my 2nd (the one I'm waiting on)!

I've actually owned eight Zons up to this point and will have four when the order is finished! All keepers.

VB4 fretless lined, black hardware, hipshot, standard satin ash body. Nice and simple - I went back and forth on the finish but finally started to enjoy the natural wood look so stuck with it. Joe said he found a nice piece of ash for me so I'm looking forward to seeing it. I was almost tempted to do a tobacco burst on the VB but then thought it might look strange given the body style. I play more of a jazz/ambient style and will play it with flats - can't wait to get my hands (and ears) on it! Ordered mid-summer.

Congrats! I like the satin finishes more myself.

Merry Christmas all!

I just scored another Vinny. This time it's a VB5H on its way from Canada. Unfortunately, that meant giving up my fretless TJ, however I know it's going to a good home. I really wish I had more desire (and time) to hone my skills on fretless, but alas, I have too much work to do on fretted.

Nice! Is it one of the H's with a top? There were a couple cool ones he made in a batch.

I understand about fretless though- I got my dream bass I'd wanted for 10 years from one of my favorite TBers...only to get it at a time where I didn't have the time or space to work on fretless playing, and hadn't owned a fretless in 3 years. I decided to sell it instead of paying the $600 to have the neck updated/fretted. It hurt. Alas someday I will get a proper tribute to that bass.

Congrats, AJ. You've been ready to let go of that TJ for quite a while - beautiful bass but not the "one" for you. I'm glad you're getting another Vinny. Those seem to really do it for you.

Thanks Jon! Yeah.. the Vinny has really been one of those basses that I've really gelled with. The 5-string is entirely different than the 4-string, but I'm confident this will be a keeper.

A good place will powder coat all of the pieces for pretty much the same price. Most places deal in small parts so it's worth taking it apart and doing the whole thing. The place near me will even powder coat the heads of the screws!

The tolerances on the bridge aren't so tight that the powder coating will affect anything, so you should be able to get away with doing the whole thing!

Nice! I thought the tolerances might make it tough, but I'd definitely rather do all the pieces.

Oh, maybe I was unclear. You HAVE to do it in pieces- I just mean that doing all of the pieces won't affect the fitment as the tolerances are pretty loose and even the thickest powder coating is usually only around 0.020", but most I've seen are around 0.005-0.007". Aim for the latter, as the former is big, but even then should be an issue. "The whole thing" just meant all of the pieces, lol.
