Ok, so now we're talking HOF in the eyes of the general public? I thought it was HOF in the eyes of bass players. In that case Berlin wouldn't even qualify. Neither would Anthony Jackson. I think Dimin might by the skin of his teeth.

Would Billy Gould qualify ?
He`s famous enough and has been playing Zon basses for more than 10 years IIRC.

My wish list for the ZON booth would be:
- an unlined fretless TJ4
- an unlined fretless VB4
because I have never seen examples of either. The TJ4 would have purple heart sandwiched between a bubinga top and an alder body and the VB4 would have a figured walnut top and alder body. Both would have black hardware.

I don't know about Billy Gould. Maybe if he was playing Zon back in the early 90's, but probably not now.

Yeah, that's why I mentioned "American" a while back- because here, very few people have heard of them, but in Asia they're huge.

I actually think Tetsu makes Zon gives substantially more press in Japan and other countries (as in Singapore) than ANYONE does for Zon in the US.

I don't think there are any high profile US/European endorsers right now- as in, people that are known by non-musicians or non-bass players.

As far as I can tell Billy started playing Zons on the tour to support "Angel Dust" in 1992. You can see it cleqrly in the videos of Mr Gould playing it live on the tonight show on that tour... Of course they are playing "Easy," so that's too bad, but the Zon is in full effect.

That said, FNM is one of my favorite bands of all time, and Billy was a huge part of their sound and writing and all the production, but I dont know if they qualify for HOF. Though certainly if Manring is well-known enough, FNM is, especially outside of the US.

While Tetsuya continued to record with his Zons he hasn't used them live in a long time. But he's definitely high-profile. Now that he's using Lakland almost exclusively I'll bet that will be a big bump for Lakland's popularity in Asia.

Really? News to me, must be very recent. The last I saw was the solo tour DVD as well as a L'Arc tv performance a couple of weeks ago both with the Lakland.
