Yeah, I missed out of portaitoftracy's sale Maybe the guy he sold it to will resell it. Never had an issue with the Vinny balance- hard to have neck dive on a headless bass. The one really weird thing about it is the lower "cutaway" isn't really cut out all all, so all the higher frets are tough to get to. It's the opposite of a TJ model

Agreed, the balance was fine, but the short upper horn pushed the first fret too far away for my taste. Killer sounding bass though

Thank you, and yes, this VB4 is gallery grade myrtle over ash.

It weighs in at a svelte 7 lb 4 oz, but sounds HUGE

Sorry for repeating myself so much; today James LaBrie's new album was released in Europe. The bass work (Ray Riendeau) is out of this world, and so is the bass tone! The third song of the album features one of the best bass tones I have EVER heard. Fat, growly, punchy yet smooth at the same time.

Magical melodic hooks in every song. So far the album has more than met my (high) expectations.

The US release is next Monday, IIRC. Highly recommended.

I tried some Zon brand strings this weekend, loving them so far, pleasantly surprised! it seems so hard to marry the right strings with the right bass, but Joe really nailed it with these strings...(it never dawned on me before to try them).

IIRC, there were quite a few of these made with the same specs. They had a bunch of logs. I'd bet you'll be able to find one.

Spanking around on my TJ6 yesterday. Crappy sound on the iPhone vid but I wanted to share anyway.

Joe and the crew at Zon are wizards. This bass continues to exceed my expectations. I've left my Modulus basses and Fodera in their cases for months now
