I've recently acquired this rather lovely Legacy Elite fretless 5. I can't find many other examples with a single pickup and would be interested to know a bit more about this model. Does anyone else have one?

Legacy Elites don't have a specific pickup designation... so this particular model was never introduced, nor discontinued. It's just a Legacy Elite 5 Fretless with a humbucker in the "sweet spot".
To me, it definitely looks a little older since it has the Wilkinson bridge on it... but not old enough to have the original logo.
That's definitely a koa top... and since it's a Legacy Elite, it probably has a mahogany body.

Thanks Addison. I believe the bridge is a Schaller 3D. I requested dating details from Zon and it came back as 1998 although the person I bought it from ((a renowned UK session player) thought it was a bit earlier than that. Top is flamed koa and body is poplar. It's a fabulous bass and has been used on sessions with many top artists - Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel, John Martyn among others.

I always knew of those as a "Schaller Roller Bridge"... the 3D thing must be something new.
I don't have any way of double checking that serial number... but I would trust the date you got from Zon. It seems about right, and they keep pretty decent records.

^ the 2001 Zon Sonus 5 fretless undergirding the tune. My intonation is still pretty poor, but again, I'm only playing about 4 notes the whole time, so it kind of keeps screw-ups to a theoretical minimum.
The tone and feel of this bass are just incredible. Hard to describe the playing experience. I ran it direct into the interface on this one. Wicked solid feeling bass and it just has "the sound" that I've been hearing in my head for years and years
p.s. for the curious, I'm on bass and guitar here, the other guy BT is on flute and udu. This was only the 2nd time we'd played this song (first time being live, hahar!)

Anyone running a Sonus 5 strung E-C? Also, how hard is it to get a black bridge to swap out for chrome (looks like the tuners are easy to get from bestbassgear)?

Congratulations on getting this beauty! My single PUP 5/1 beat out a Sadowsky V5, Modulus Genesis and 55-94, and slightly favored over a P5 by bandmates in 2 consecutive Country bands so definitely "Sweetspot" is not a misnomer.
I do it all of the time- just swap the strings. They don't move around in the nut, so as non-optimal as it may be you'll probably never notice.
You could buy a Zon bridge from Zon directly if you call up, and you'll be able to sell the chrome unit here. I swapped my Zon bridge to a Hipshot for ease across instruments, but that requires drilling.
