I'd be lying if I said I don't take advantage of modern technology, but at the end of the day I still have to put in the work. Watching all the Scott's Bass Lessons video in the universe does not replace practicing as many hours a day every day as I can.

There is more information available these days than when I started playing bass 45 years ago and time stretching software is a lot easier than wearing out my records playing the same two bars 100 times when trying to figure out the notes.
 
After reading this thread and the one about learning new songs note for note, i decided to see what i could do with modern technology and an hour of my time.
I learned Wild Nights (Van Morrison version) note for note with time to spare
