some filters have fixed resonance/”Q”. High resonance filters are prone to volume spikes. this has been true since the Mu-Tron III. I don’t know what filters you have but the Q-Tron is way higher resonance than, say, a bottom rocker.
...I need to hear some more clips (and ones without distortion) to say whether I’d really want it.
Still, it sounds like a modded BMS imo :x
D@MN, were blocked from Youtube here at work, wont be able to watch the video til I get home! But yeah, Id want to hear more than just with distortion too. I've really been jonesing for a 3Leaf Groove Regulator recently, is the Enigma going to give it some competition? I'll watch the video first thing when I get home. lol
5sg.

i see no reason to expect this to be cheaper than the BMS... more than likely it will be similar in price.

in any case, here's an ehx demo of the enigma/qballs for bass by Jack Conte!

I need to know how it handles a 5-string before I'll get excited.
How do you mean "handles?" The filter will just treat it as a different frequency, like any other string.
If you mean how will it retain the low end, adjust the Blend to taste and you should be fine.
...Without the octave up or down. Add a POG2 to it and it might just explode your mind.
One thing I did notice though. I wonder if this thing can do an original bassballs sound?
