I'll echo what others have said, nice work handling the curve ball, you sounded good with no hints you couldn't hear yourself! I probably would have played the whole song a half step out...

Ya know, I just had to remind myself that I knew the song and that psyching myself out wouldn't do any good. Bearing that in mind helped more than you know, especially when I heard silence upon starting the song.

How did any of you hear anything? Seems strange to hear nothing. I have had some crappy live situations but I have to hand that one to you.

That is just great! I made my own TV debut last summer (local fundraiser). I discovered that as soon as a camera is pointed at me I go vacant. So from where I sit you get several gold stars for keeping your cool, especially with no monitor! Your partner has a lovely voice, too.

I enjoyed your performance. I also enjoyed hearing a G&L L-2000 being played in an unfamiliar context. Most of the videos featuring that bass, usually, involve heavy slapping or edgier musical genres.

I found interesting that the tone of that bass seems quite unique. It does not sound like a P, a Jazz or a Ray. It has its own tone.

Thanks for your kind words. I would agree, this bass truly is different from anything I've ever owned. It's got a magical sound which I've never gotten out of anything. It can cop a good P, J or Ray, but as you said, it is unique. And I love it for that reason!

I have also come across many L-2000 demo vids matching your description. The bass is well-suited for edgy material. I've pushed it to it's limits myself, and it can absolutely keep up. But, this beast is mostly tamed... . 90% jazz with this one.

Thank you. Sound guy heard me fine, but for whatever reason broadcasting me over the studio sound system was a problem. Whatever, dude knows what he's doing, so I trusted him. Came out perfectly!

Great stuff there, really smooth...especially without monitors!

Having run into the "no monitor" issue many times, I researched and finally integrated one of these Tasty Blenders into my setup. Now I have no stress about whatever the venue throws at me. And accepting speaker level input really takes away the engineer's possible objections about not having extra line level sends for you
