The only cabs I build are prototypes of new designs, for the purpose of figuring out the best method to construct them, and to measure their performance to be sure that they deserve to be offered.

Orange Isobaric Cabs, SP212, SP410 questions

Well what about when you need more than
that...like for a big places 2-3k seaters...I know I use in-ears..but some times you need more...you know?
The majority of high end 2x12s will outperform the Orange 2x10 even when they are both max SPL, I would wager. I'll wait on measurements to see for sure, but:
If the Orange Isobaric were made with Deltalite 2510 IIs, and a 2x12 cab was made with Deltalite 2512 IIs, the 2x12 would outperform the 2510 everywhere all the way up.

At that size of a venue, your cabs are just for show, especially if you're using in-ears, so your point is moot IMO.
On the other hand, sometimes I play rooms (or worse outdoors) where there are 500-600 people and I am not going through the PA at all. In those instances, I feel like I need some big cabs and power to push me to the back.
For the 2500 bucks of two Orange SP210s (one will NOT cut it) you could get a GK or Mesa 4x12 or a high end neo 8x10, and have enough money left to buy your wife some diamonds so she doesn't dump your arse for spending 2500 bucks on bass cabs.
Oh, and the high end neo 8x10 or 4x12 will crush the SP210s in volume

Why are you compaing a 4x12 or 8x10 to a sp210? Of course it will kill it. It's only 2 10' speakers.
Played one of these with a tiny terror bass amp. Went through the 4x10 and 2x12..
I would like the 2x12 both sounded huuugggeee.. But I hate the look of 2x10s maybe if you stack it sideways. But either way they sounded GREAT

Sorry, I meant the SP410. It's confusing because it's the size of a 2x10.
A 4x12 will be as loud as two SP410s roughly, at 1000 bucks less and about the same weight.

I'm still curious as to how these sound though. I wonder why they didn't make a "1x15" cab
My in-ears have ambient hearing so at larger shows I can crank my rig a little louder and not get in trouble by the FOH guy.. ya know
Right but no one is hearing it but you. Your sound in the FOH, unless you are micing both the front firing speakers and capturing the extended low end from the porting of the isobaric speakers, is going to be from your DI/mic feed, meaning the cabs are just a stage monitor. And to that end, they're even less of a stage monitor because you're sending a feed to the in-ears. At that point, these cabs make even less sense because you'll have diminished stage volume for the same power.

When we get some of the bigger shows I crank it for me and to get a little better tone.... Its always the FOH guy to do the mix with my DI and a Beta 52..
Just to be honest with you, I will only use 1 of the Terror Bass.. its really more than enough.....
2 15s done isobarically would weigh considerably more than their OBC15, which already weighs about 70lbs. To push it up near 100lbs and double the price just to get it a bit smaller in volume seems silly to me, but then so do the other isobaric designs (to me). I'd love to do some blind (=real and objective) comparisons between these and other Orange cabs, but it's not in the cards.

So now I am contemplating a single or dual cab solution that is portable but capable.
Consider the pair of SP212's ...or what an a single SP410? My local shop had an SP212 and it sounded great. But I think I would want a pair. But what about a single SP410?
