Okay, I know some of you cats dig the warm sunny weather, especially here in the rainy PacNW, but for this bat it's no bueno. Hiding out in the bat cave this weekend.
I'm with you. I would love it if the temp never got over 72 degrees.
Everybody I work with gets mad at me cause I like the rain and gray and thunder and clouds and hail and ice and snow. The sunshine I could take or leave...
Same here. I really do appreciate a beautiful sunny blue-sky day, but rain and overcast don't bum me out at all and in fact I can only take so many sunny days in a row before I start wishing for it to go gray again.
I will say, though, that I have had my fill of snow and ice over my lifetime. I loved it as a kid in Minnesota, but I was in upstate NY the last couple of years before moving here and I had about enough snow and ice to last me. I can deal with it when it happens, but I'm glad to now be living in a place where it's a (relative) rarity.
I love to go to the coast when it is rainy and stormy and windy. I could walk around on the cliffs and look at the ocean all day and be happy as a clam.
Absolutely. I was landlocked for many years. Now I'm starved for the coast and to see the Pacific. Since moving here, we take as many opportunities as possible to hit the coast.
What amazes me is that often on days that are a little chilly or that might be rainy, my family and I can walk around beaches that are as beautiful as anyplace on Earth and hardly see another soul. At least, that's happened to us a lot the past few months.
Yeah, I've never understood why so many Oregonians love summer and hate rain...why do they even live in Oregon? There are other states where it's sunny a lot more often and rains a lot less...
I don't mind the sun, I just don't like the heat. Or the humidity. Or the bugs.
Brother, take it from me...as I think I said in one of my first posts on this thread, I have lived all over this country. But I was unfortunately stuck for several years in the Oklahoma/Arkansas/Texas/Louisiana region and dear lord in Heaven...the heat and humidity could just plain wear you out.
Hopefully I didn't already mention this, but the last Summer I was in Oklahoma we had three weeks of temps in the 110 degree range with--get this--98% humidity, but not a hint of a breeze nor a drop of rain. You can almost HEAR the heat, like an annoying buzzing or a high-pitched whine. You can't even dry off from a cold shower before you are sweating, even with air conditioning.
I just don't see why anyone would voluntarily live in those conditions. At least in the
Southwest it might get that hot, but it's far more arid and therefore doesn't mnake your lungs feel as weighted down...isn't quite as energy-sapping.
When it's Summer in that part of the country, it just doesn't cool down for months. In August the asphalt will read 140 degrees. You can literally (seriously, I have seen this innumerable times) go outside at 2 or 3 in the A.M. and still see rippling heat waves rising up from the red dirt and pavement. No thanks.
First Thursday @ Scandal's. It was fun, everybody really enjoyed us. Good times
