Spending money we haven't received yet is no way to live :woot:

Not sure why, but I'm just not wired like that.
I don't make plans for what to do with tax-return funds & things like that.

When I don't have money, I don't spend, & of course the vice-versa. When I have satisfied my requirements for rainy-day money, then I'll spend.

Speaking from a point of view and having been on both sides of that fence: buying with money that has not arrived yet, will eventually cause pain in your life. I am digging out of that now.

I used to own my own little 25 person company. We bonused monthly based upon the project performance. The techs had the opportunity to leave a portion in a Bonus Bank (with interest) to help on months without any bonuses. Those that always took it all, felt bad when there were no bonuses. Those that banked 1/2 had some to fall back on if needed. One guy used to bank 100% of the bonuses five years later he and his wife retired to a cabin on a lake. He thanked me for the concept and implementation as if he had taken the money he felt it would not have gotten to the savings.

My wife and I have stable jobs and are not in danger of being laid-off. We will also continue to be paid even though we are not actually going to work (distance teaching/learning). So we will be donating anything we get to local charities that are going to help those who are being laid-off. Most of these people are being laid-off because the local government is closing down the business they work for and the employer (usually a small business) cannot keep paying them. It's no one's fault. Like everyone, they are a victim of circumstance. It isn't like they are being laid-off because of en economic downturn and greedy banks. I'm not going to tell anyone what to do with their money, but at this time I would rather give it directly (or as directly as possible) to people who need it rather than a corporation that doesn't.

Yeah, not that I wouldn't like the money, but I don't need it and there are so many who will, desperately. If something is dumped in my lap, it'll go into our church's community outreach to help local folks.

a stimulus? lolol have fun with that! I won't see a penny but have been out buying bass stuffs regardless of the political malarkey. even tho purchases ain't gonna do much but for myself as I otherwise self-quarantine a cool new bass and amp this week makes it easy to ignore the brain dead BS, what could be better? more bass!

As far as Im concerned, I would just be getting some of my money back so no gear plans for it. Well I did just buy a set of flatwounds so maybe Ill use it to pay for that. That way I wont feel so bad when I hurl them in the trash after a few months like every other set of flats Ive attempted to like.

Flatwound bass strings - one mans trash... :D

Paying off my last credit card to prep for the coming months. (no car payment fortunately) I just bought some guitar stuff since I had a couple of "guaranteed" sales, which fell through after everyone lost their gigs.
but at least I'll have some new toys to play with
