Me too, except in my case it's noise pollution

A stimulus check is a check sent to a taxpayer by the U.S. government. Stimulus checks are intended to stimulate the economy by providing consumers with some spending money. When taxpayers spend this money, it will boost consumption and drive revenues at retailers and manufacturers and, thus, spur the economy. That money is meant to help fight the C Virus spread. You are supposed to use it for whatever you feel/believe will help. Dr. visits, vitamins, eating healthy, toilet paper, disinfectant, staying home. Things like that. Ahything else is misuse. YMMV.
Well, kind of...Forbes reports that the check is called the CORONA VIRUS STIMULUS CHECK because the economy is slowing due to the C-Virus outbreak. Businesses are closing and people are without work making decisions like '"should I keep the lights on or go to the doctor" This was originally meant to help those people and the very poor elderly population. For those who don't have the problem now, they should hold on in case things get worse which the government says is inevitable. You are right...who am I. It's just something that really bothers me, I'll see myself out. Good day.I think that this could veer into politics. If you do not want to spend your money on gear, say so without the policy discussion.
I may not get anything special myself because for all I know, there may not be enough students signed up for the summer school class I teach every summer. Also, my church job playing bass is gone for the foreseeable future, and that will cost me $200 a month. At most, I will finish paying off my Geddy Lee, something I was planning to do before the sky started falling. You are right...who am I. Depends on how closely my wife is watching the news and the mailboxPlease no politics, just GAS.
It appears that substantial stimulus is coming our way soon. Some of that money will be earmarked for some responsible adult things, but we should get enough that I can pass some GAS. I know some things I might buy, but I talk about my GAS so much, I want to hear what others might do to musically boost the economy?

I didn’t see anything about salary vs hourly, only considerations of income itself and some adjustment for household sizeUnless I am mistaken, the money will go to those who's hourly jobs have been affected. I do not believe it is for every salaried employee. However, things are changing daily and I may have misunderstood some details.
I personally would not use a dime to buy musical gear. It's not Christmas, it's for financial relief (late bills, house payment, rent, etc).
I am a Teacher and a salary employee.

No. There will be an income level limit. Make more than $x, you feet nothing.Does everyone qualify?
