'Just got some photos of my Firebass 700/TVX412 rig.
She really puts out the bass!
I bypassed the crossover to go straight to the 4x12s, no tweeter...sounds MUCH better!

There is the beast. TXF 412 and Firebass 700.
A little beat up, got it used from a guy that went pretty hard on it. But everything works and sounds great. I only paid $250 for both.

I have a nitrobass head and 412TVX that came to about $325 from 2 different sources.
Great stuff with these 3 half stacks.
Im thrilled with mine, maybe I'll do the xover bypass myself one day, I dont use the tweeter in it.

This is a set up I have been running for awhile. It is setup for stereo and sounds incredible. These Bams have tone to die for. Great reliability and USA made.
I'm not sure what the contest is ... but you definitely won. That is totally sweet.
I have used Peavey tube combos and heads for guitar since I goit away from Marshalls in the early 90s, despite a short flirtation with Mesa Boggie and Matchless in the mid 2000s. And I have used Peavey bass amps off and on for years, too. Currently running Ibanez 370M and 700SRX into a Max 700 ($189 used! ) and an Avatar 212 cab, with an Avatar 210 coming to make it easier for traveling/loading for practices and getting a speaker up closer to my ear for shows. I play part-time with the loudest country band in the state.
The Classic 50 head and 212 cab in the background was my studio rig. The head was made around 1994 and looks showroom. It has sat in a studio/practice space since new. I always took a Classic 50 2x12 combo to shows, now I'm glad I did. The heads are getting hard to find. I actually used the Classic 50 rig for bass for two months while shopping for bass gear. I used an old Mace combo for bass for years and saw a guy using a Classic 50 combo for bass and it sounded pretty sweet, so I tried it and loved it. Hitting Google it seems quite a few people have used C50s for bass amps. I was surprised how loud 50 tube watts was thru a sealed 212 guitar cab. Those Blue Marvels are indestructible.
For the record, yes ... they are sitting in a bedroom. I have been doing fill-in shows only (guitar and bass) since my band of 8 years bit the dust in January. I'm not a bedroom wanker. Not that I haven't been some years.
I just ordered my son the new Peavey Max 115 (to go along with his Peavey RSB bass). I'm looking forward to receiving it because I'm a bass player too.
Quit my band to do post-grad work / maybe a doctorate.
The amp collection sits. The Peavey? It wound up in the center of the studio and that's what I plug into when I come out to woodshed or just noodle.

I have a Peavey Mark VIII XP Series, and twin 1820 cabinets. I also use a Peavey PV 8.5C to power it up when needed.

That VB-2 looks great.
I've got a Series 500 amp@250w, with matching 18" W folded horns, a Series 400 amp@210w with a 215,an 80w TNT, an IPR 1600 DSP. Plus various carcasses and parts chassis.
