From whom did you receive this call? MF site says 9/14 now - thought they'd wait 'til 9/7 (previous ETA) to push that one back, but I've given up putting any stock in their dates.I got a call two days ago telling me that WHEN I get my MiniMega, it will exceed expectations. There will be lots of happy folks. BUT...the eta is now late October.

Peavey MiniMega 1000

It was a courtesy call from my "always as accurate within his power" sales rep. I assume that it the target actually given to him, if would seem foolish to make a call just to make up something...IMHO I hope that I can realistically get one of these amps in hand soon. As patient an I generally pride myself on being, it is starting to wear thin on the MiniMega .
I truly appreciate the way Sweetwater has handled these delays, with me (and I'm just Joe Bassplayer Wannabe) Making a call and passing along what seems like reasonable delays and eta's is definitely going the extra step i think. Even the other retailers with there updates, you can't blame. They are in a pretty precarious position taking pre-orders from their customer base and basically being strung along,,,for whatever reason. Hopefully the "baby" comes soon: There's been lots of labor

Well, now MF says "10-27 ETA" and I can't believe it. If it weren't for that sound I've grown used to playing, I would walk on to another micro. But I'm intrigued. Gear snobs and sneer but I made a good living using Peavey amps during my professional career. Now that I do weekenders and charities, I want light equipment that's powerful.
Which brings me to part two of my thoughts. WHY oh WHY did Peavey not roll out some ultralight cabinets to go with the Minimega? I'm not Hartley Peavey, but how much thought would it take to think-- hmm Minimega, micro amp-- hey-- ultralight cabinets!!! I mean today, this would be almost a mandatory option for micros. Look at Gallien Krueger and Hartke ultralights-- they are excellent. Peavey really missed the bus on this one.

They did announce new cabs and even showed them at NAMM. I would have thought they could have put out the cabs by now as they should require less development than a new head but I get wanting to bring both to market at the same time. I'm amazed at the patience of some of you guys. They should really give the faithful few that preordered a discount for loyalty!
If I recall correctly, there were two new cabs mentioned initially. One, the 1516 (?), was paired with the MiniMega and didn't strike me as being a lightweight option. The other was a 112 cab that was paired with the MiniMax. Both were the new PVH series. Now there seems to be three more new cabs from that line. A 210, 212 and a 410. This video seems to cover all of the new stuff unless something additional is in the works....
Depending on what your definition of lightweight is, the 112 might fit....

How in god's name is this thing not out yet!? I quit following this thread five months ago and it's stil not out? I don't know how you guys have hung on so long.
No kidding. They're only four months from the two year mark of introducing these at the 2014 NAMM.
I was interested in these things, but in the intervening almost two years I've hoarded enough Genz Benz gear to meet all my needs.

I would hope that Peavey learns from this, and makes product announcements once the product is at least in the pipeline.
It will be interesting to see if the new Mesa Subway is in the hands of users within a month or so of its announcement.
My bet is that even if Peavey didn't learn anything, their competition did!!!

There are positive reports from people who've heard and or played the/a prototype. I naively thought that meant a production model was imminent. All sorts of potential causes for delay that one could speculate on.

I knew it was some time back, but didn't know it was that long ago. Maybe when I first heard about that happening, it was already old news. I've been waiting for the amp awhile, but haven't been onboard the full two years. Was I more ironic than I intended to be?
This is how Peavey has operated since the early 70's, not sure why, and don't expect them to change. A lot of great product ideas never get into production after announced.
