So it seems it is - would like to hear a review but I almost pushed the buy button anyway. I don't have a backup amp still and my gut tells me to try this out. Hmmm.. Seems a good price too.

Its crap dude. Not even on Peaveys webpage as anything other than a preview.
You show it to me on Sweetwater or Musiciansfriend and I'll believe it.
Yeah it's been up on Full Compass for a month or two.... I guess we'll see in July. Can't wait to try these out though.
Well, I just ordered one from Spectrum Audio - there was no mention of a wait time, led me to believe it was in stock. Time will tell. If not, then come July it will I am sure.
I have never played Peavey amps. What was the tonal characteristic of the original Mega that everyone is so nuts about? I have had lots of Peavey PA gear and it was always tuff as nails.

They are not shipping until "some time" in 3rd quarter per a peavey rep I talked to. Look for them in September would be my guess.
They didn't charge you yet did they?
I paid with Paypal, so have protection from there. The transaction has not gone through though which may mean it is a preorder status. But the site does not say anything other than it will/should ship in 7-14 days. I am not too worried, I won't loose my money and I am in no dire need for an amp at the moment and could wait until Sept if need be. We will see.
Order update -
Spectrum Audio does not stock Peavey products but instead takes orders and has them shipped directly from Peavey. Today my order was cancelled with a note saying that product is still in production phase and due out at the end of the year; according to Peavey.

That sounds more correct.
The rep I talked to said that Peavey was saying 3rd quarter but that doesn't mean the amps will be in everyone's hands by then. They will go to the top sponsored artists and the big dollar orders then to everyone else.

By the time it comes out I will have probably bought something else. Maybe two something else's. Plenty of other good choices out there.

I do think we will see these in September. Yes plenty of other good choices. I like the looks of the Traynor SB500. It will be interesting when the Peavey ships to compare the perceived loudness of all the small amps available. I have a feeling we will not see much difference as there are few speakers that can actually handle the 1000 watts - SPL will be at loud levels before we actually see the difference in a 500 watt amp and the 1000 watt amp except in a very few circumstances such as with an 8x10 or 4x12 cab. I would love to see the minimega paired with a Traynor 4x12. BAM! BOOM! TAKE THAT you Marshall double stack guitarist!
Hey BobbyBld, any word on any changes from what was shown at NAMM, as was talked about here on TB? Like, for example, an Aux In? Or any other changes from NAMM that will be in the production units?
I added the aux in on the back. There have been several improvements since NAMM. I tweaked out the EQ section. I wasn't happy with the HI-Q settings on the mid bands and I didn't like the response of the low control. The speaker output over current protection needed some love at NAMM--can't have shutdowns no matter what! I'm really happy with that part. A lot of those changes came from taking it out gigging and hearing it live. The digital cooling fan drive was changed a lot to minimize fan noise. There were lots of other changes to the power section to maximize reliability, efficiency, etc... Anyway, just trying to get it shipping. The biggest holdup has been that the power section is used in several other new non-bass products and I have to give design support. Unfortunately, bass gear is not always top priority because the market segment is tiny compared to others
