It is one thing to exercise creativity and write a witty, satirical CL posting that most will be able to 'read between the lines' and enjoy while getting the real message. Gigadeath's ad is not an example of that. A shame given the amount of publicity he's getting as a result. If he were to scribe a rebuttal that resonated with the sensible masses (if there is such a thing) he could cap on it.

I'm not holding my breath for that though...

So Raz, do you think it therefore good to have an entire thread dedicated to trashing this person?

I don't really understand your point.

Lucas V writes: "the fine folk over at talkbass, who seem to get a great big kick out of tearing other people down, are a bunch of poseur jerks. Very few of them have any talent, or can actually play the bass. No. What they are good at is running their mouths and being snarky, and that's about it. Most people know that these turds are nothing more than gear collectors, and not real players. So, their cutting into Gigadead should come as no surprise. Anything to make themselves feel better about being bad bass players!"

Funny enough, Lucas V's account on talkbass has been banned... I think I may have found the culprit of our troll mystery
Bingo!

I had a good laugh at this.

If anyone's a poser its this clown...it also takes lots of talent to write yet another song in E minor with that same tired polka/punk beat which obviously none of us "talent less gear collectors" will ever be capable of....;).... Good luck getting any players for your "band" with your awesome attitude and requirements...

Damn....if only he also told us what headphone/speakers we should be using and what we should be wearing while viewing his masterpieces.

I don't want to watch it incorrectly...
First and foremost I think you need to understand the un-importance of how you feel. You WILL watch how he says. You WILL enjoy it. You will PISS YOUR PANTS if you feel the need to relieve yourself within 24 hours before OR after watching.
Then and only then, might you experience the greatness that is Gigadead.

By the way if you search GigaDEATH on youtube, there are some live shows. They're not good. But I don't think it's the same guy.
Weird how things work.

I went to his actual "band's" youtube and he has 29 subscribers. Looks like he got his mother AND her whole knitting club to go on the youtube and support him. He's moving up in the world already.

From what I understand, there aren't too many clubs for this style up there anymore and my friends all tell me the scene is pretty dried up...

Station 4( or the Lab or Ryan's) was the main metal club in st Paul and has been closed for a years or more and the staff there wouldn't put up with a clown like this(I used to live in my practice space above it)

The quest has been closed awhile(this guy would be *lucky* to play the Ascot room upstairs), I've played the "quest for metal" shows there that Earl set up(this was when they did the "quest for mayhem"93X shows on Fridays)

1st Ave is still kicking, but given his (lack of)reputation, I don't see this clown even getting in the 7th St entry...

So for clubs that host original heavy music that leaves the rock in Maplewood, the triple rock in between st paul/Minneapolis, Star Bar in northeast Minneapolis, and I'm not sure if these last 3 even exist anymore...

Where does Gigadead fit in this?? Well, they DON'T, AT ALL, and none of the better players I know up there would put up with the crap this guy seems to get off on....
