Yeah. I'll take Les Claypool, Slappin' da bass, and Fanciness over Dr. Goebbles fun time band any day.
I might play for free, but I have a goddamned good time doing it. The only people I've ever had problems with in 10 years of playing were the ones that just didn't get along with anybody. That attitude is a constant in the music community. If you're Metallica, and you have the clout and success to treat people like dirt, by all means go for it. But I know that I can jam and get along with just about anybody. I leave my ego at the door, and I have a lot of fun doing what I do.
You may think I'M egocentric, but I would be embarrassed to seriously present myself in that manner. I'm NOT a success. I don't make a living with music. I'm no better than anyone else, and even the successful musicians are no better than me. How you are toward other people is what defines you in this world. If I were you and I had an inbox full of applicants, I sure as sugar wouldn't be here arguing with the other half of the populace.
