Pet Peeves, let's hear them.

I don't know if there's a name for this behavior, but what gets me boiling is when someone does something wrong and then accuses me of it. I'm not talking about blaming me for something to an authority figure to save their butt. I'm talking about something like someone yelling at me for five minutes straight - about how I just started yelling at them for no reason. Or doing something stupid and then trying to convince me that it was something I did, because they clearly remember me doing it, and that has to be the truth - I mean, they even watched me do it! Why would I do something so stupid, anyway?

It doesn't happen often, and I think it takes a special kind of dysfunctional person to do it, but I can feel the veins in my forehead throbbing when someone tries to fool me into thinking I'm the moron they are.

Also, "I'm rubber / you're glue" arguments really get to me. It ties in with what I'm talking about above and even normal people tend to do it when they are getting beaten in a debate they can't reason their way out of.

Just accuse me of saying what you just said. Makes perfect sense.

(Eating)
People that chew with their mouths open, or talk while chewing, even worse people that feel the need to do both and smack their tongue and mush over and over against the roof of their mouth.

What are you a freaking horse?

(Driving)
People that hit their brakes for absolutely nothing at all.
People that can't drive at least the speed limit.

People that get extremely nervous while driving in inclement weather, yet still insist on doing it anyway and those that slow down 30 miles under the limit in the rain with their flashers on.
It's the best time to actually witness the contagiousness of stupidity though.

All it takes is one car to turn on their hazard blinkers and like a row of moronic dominos one right after the next will follow suit.

GET OFF THE DAMN ROAD if your afraid and can't drive don't just assume you decide when everyone else should slow down or when everyone else should take extra caution.

People that ride the shoulder in traffic, sit your butt in traffic Just like everyone else, your not special.
People that block the shoulder when those idiots are trying to drive past the traffic.
THAT'S NOT YOUR JOB, stay in your damn lane.
Let the police do their work. You have no idea if they are having an emergency you douche bag. They could have someone dying in their car and your dumb ash is gonna start a pissing contest right there on the side of the highway.

Some guy did this yesterday over and over, the third time he decided to play super blocker I said screw it and just closed his spot off leaving him stuck on the shoulder.
I'm sorry but I'm not sitting there while you play games pissing people off on the road. See ya.

(Household)
Open doors, cabinets, drawers.

(Internet)
People that feel the need to correct others when they obviously already know w/o a doubt what they mean already.

People that remind other people of rules even though it is not their job to do so. Or directs others on what they can and can not do, even though it's not their job, or business in any way.
Mind your business. Worry about yourself.
We're you a freaking crossing guard in a previous life?

People that pout and cry and constantly complain about grammar, spelling, punctuation and so on.
GET OVER IT, it's NEVER GOING TO STOP OR GO AWAY.
Most people just don't care enough to worry about it. Others don't feel the need to go back and correct mistakes. Some just didn't notice it.
And many are struggling to speak your language and still learning. This will ALWAYS be the case.
Quit driving yourself crazy over it, and for JimBean's sake PLEASE shut up about it.
How long are you going to harp on it?
Lord do you pull up to EVERY car on the road and tell them about their driving mistakes?
Do you tell every parent about their parenting mistakes when you see it?
Do you go to bars and correct karaoke singers for each word they get wrong or tune they sing out of key?

I hate to see what your going to do with yourself when the inevitable happens and text becomes a recognized language. U no itz Guna happen : )
U myt az well Kwit da nter-net now.
Your in for some stressful times.

(Hypocrisy)
And I'm a bit of a hypocrite because even I hate (just not enough to say anything) when people type like that.
Yo wad it do, wuz up cuz, wuz guud? Fo realz?

Okay I'm gonna stop because I honestly don't seem to have any end in sight Here. This could go on forever.

- People who are driving in the lane next to you at least 5 car lengths away who will decide to floor it the second you put your blinker on

- people who tailgate

- open cabinets, open drawers, random crap thrown in the middle of the floor

- dishonesty masked in a feigned laizzes-faire (sp?) attitude

- children who act like mini demons in public while the parents do nothing. Actually, the parents. Not so much the children

- kids sagging in skinny jeans. Seriously...WTH?????/

People who quote the OP when replying, or quote an entire five paragraph post when responding to one detail, or just to agree with it.

Not weed, but weed culture. I don't care how big a part of your daily life it is. Shouldn't you be embracing the things you feel are enhanced by smoking, not the pot itself? It also bothers me when artists and musicians become synonymous with marijuana because they do or have endorsed it. As if it was their only inspiration and subject matter.

People who moan or make noises/faces of pleasure, instead of finishing chewing, swallowing, and stating with words how good their food is.

People who say they don't like something they haven't tried since they were eight.

Belly-button rings. I like belly-buttons. I like piercings. But nothing can ruin a good-looking gal faster than one of these gaudy atrocities.

Air freshener. "Sure, let me mix the sweet smell of my favorite fruits with the pungent stank of a rancid dump, so I can absorb even more potentially carcinogenic chemicals into my lungs today!"

People who assume that everyone else in the world has seen Dr. Who. "Oh wow, you say your lasagna is like a Tardis? Really? Bigger inside you say? Oh wow, I never thought of it that way! I'll bet that's super clever and interesting. Too bad I have no idea what the f*** a Tardis is! Eat your damn dinner.

People who live in the past. It also irritates me when drivers come up right on my bumper, zip past with double yellow lines, and then get caught at the same red light as me. Seriously, was it that important that you had to risk my life to get a car length ahead?

Oh man that reminds me of another peeve of mine! When people argue with me about where I live, and have lived all my life. I very recently had a guy hound me because he insisted I do live in the same town as Yeungling. When I explained that Pottstown is not the same as Pottsville, he proceeded to describe in detail the geography of Pottsville, all the while continuing to refer to it as Pottstown.

Possibly brake-checking you, stop tailgating. Alternatively they might have seen something coming towards the road.
People that can't drive at least the speed limit.
I would rather have people driving within their abilities than outside of them.

People that get extremely nervous while driving in inclement weather, yet still insist on doing it anyway and those that slow down 30 miles under the limit in the rain with their flashers on.
Once again, better than people blazing through, "I HAS 4WD SUV, IS SUPERCAR!!!!!!!

That isn't such a bad thing, especially if the person in front has a reason to.
GET OFF THE DAMN ROAD if your afraid and can't drive don't just assume you decide when everyone else should slow down or when everyone else should take extra caution.

Calm down, driving isn't a competition and getting mad about it doesn't help anyone.
