Pet Peeves, let's hear them.

Completely dumping on the english language by typing words like, Dis, Dat, Den, Tho, Ur, Dem, Boi, Gurl ect. I bet people have gotten in the habbit of doing that to where they spelled like that on a job application.

Those stupid chain restaurant comercials where they verbaly use the word app for appetizer. I dont mind shortening a word, but app has already been taken by application.

My biggest though, are guitar players who refuse to clip their strings. My last guitar player always kept an unkempt head stock and poked me in the eye with one of his long string ends in the middle of a set. I was pretty upset whit him because I kept telling him to cut them.

That's just the language evolving. Imagine what people from 300 years ago or even 100 years ago think of your English. No sense in getting worked over that, it's inevitable.

I hate when others use my mic. I know I should be more relaxed about it. But I'm kinda weird about germs and I want to puke trying to sing into a Mic after someone else, with their spit and breath on it. I take my Mic everywhere and only use mine, and never let anyone use mine. I have a sm58 in the bag for them to use. I'm just weird about it.

Shorthand has always been around. It's not a change of the language. If anything, the dialects will evolve into a variety of vernacular, ultimately resulting in new languages

There is no short hand for word this or that. Purpously misspelling a word is stupid. Especially if its only shortened by one character

Agreed. It's devolution. We are Devo.

Like I said earlier, go back 100 years and see how stupid people think you sound.

I noticed that watching True Grit. The English they use is more precise with full phrasing; "I don't" is "I do not", etc. I actually kind of liked it but I could never adopt it into my vernacular without coming across as a pretentious Dbag.

When people spell 'habit' as 'habbit'. Oh snap!

Seriously color vs colour is a cultural difference. The fact that an American dictionary dropped an unneeded letter in a word is hardly the same as saying typing out something like, Dat boi is messin wit da wrong gurl.

I dont want to be willfully ignorant, while the overall inteligence of this planet is dropping like a rock. There was a time when being smart was not looked down upon, instead, people aspired to it.

I see that movie, Idiocricy, playing.out in real time every day. The more we advance the dumber we are getting as a whole.

So it is okay because you do it? It can be easily argued that "dis" drops an unneeded letter and is more in line with the vernacular, it is a cultural difference.

Plus, with color vs colour...

Is the U truly pointless? If you pay attention to the pronunciation of the word, the second syllable has a different variation of the O sound. Where does that come from? Perhaps the proceeding U?
