It was a typo, he meant "any May now."
If they couldn't put it on top, the barrel jack should've been on the right side.
That's a fair point, actually, since most (myself included) would have this first in the chain and likely on the top right of any board with enough room for you to have 2+ rows.
Peterson tuners have a rightfully earned great reputation. They really are one of the best.
The only reason I have the Sonic Research Turbo Tuner instead was that it was cheaper for me here in New Zealand at the time. They are every bit as good as the Peterson and the ST-300 is only slightly bigger while the ST-300 Mini is actually slightly smaller.

I use tuner as the first pedal in my chain. Top jacks on a tuner is a big no no for me. I want to plug to the side of my board, not to the top and have the cable annoyingly twist. Sure, I could plug the angled jack of my instrument cable, but my angled jack goes to my instrument, so no thanks.
I wonder if they resolved the issue that the HD version has - lag after turning it on. That would annoy the heck out of me. Polytune 3 (the standard version size) has a tiny lag when in buffered mode when you switch it on and it doesn't mute the audio during that time. Not a deal breaker, but annoying for sure. I think HD is even worse (slower) in that regard. I don't recall Polytune 3 Mini having this issue, and my current Boss TU-3W definitely has instant switch/mute with no lag what so ever.

i dig the new small one but i just set my standard HD on top my amp head on an angled stand, use the amp's tuner out and it's always on, so side the jacks and its larger size makes it so i really don't need the new smaller one.
That way you're also avoiding the switching lag, smart.
The Sonic Research Turbo Tuner has basically zero lag.
I set mine to half tone down, and leave it there. When I tune up to practice with a CD or youtube, I just add half-step to the display setting. So, my "G" gets tuned to "G#". "E" gets tuned to "F". That way I don't fool around with the menu either. I don't wanna program a gadget...I wanna tune my bass.
