Made me look up Tatra. This is a model 87.Tatra
"The T87 was renowned for its high-speed cruising capabilities, as well as its top speed of 100 miles per hour. Following the German annexation of Czechoslovakia in 1938, T87 production continued, halted briefly in 1943 and 1944. Postwar, the cars continued in production until 1950, and sadly, with the Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia, Hans Ledwinka was imprisoned for six years before eventual repatriation to his native Austria. In the meantime, Ferdinand Porsche's prewar KdF-Wagen evolved into the Volkswagen Type 1, later known as the Beetle, which bore more than a passing resemblance to the T87, and one can only wonder if the T87 influenced the design of Preston Tucker's innovative but short-lived line of cars.
The aluminum air-cooled V8 engine has overhead cams. Its suspension is independent on the four wheels. Top speed of the T87 was 100 miles per hour with a very low noise level and good comfort. Unfortunately, the car had a tendency to oversteer and could be dangerous if the driver wasn't careful. The T87 was the favorite car of the German officers of the Wermacht but so many were killed in accidents involving the car that the time came when the officers were forbidden to drive them."

Yeah! Tatra is an odd choice in this thread.
I saw a Tatra rally car in the tech museum in Brno in the Czech Republic. I wouldn't call it iconic in any capacity, but it did look like it could drive through walls!

There actually was at least one good thread on old school hydros with aircraft engines. Probably with a few helicopter engines thrown in as well.
