#1 - Gretsch Thunderjet (my current one and only): big sound, incredibly versatile. Ranges from huge and mellow to snappy and growly. Small, light, short scale, effortlessly playable. Also, looks wicked sweet:

#2 - top-of-the-line boutique custom fretless 6er, either Skjold, Drozd, or Dingwall.

#3 - a solidbody 4-banger with a whammy bar; something really solid and well-made, but that I wouldn't be afraid to mod/decorate/adorn/deface.

Hmmm. I guess I'd like a "modern" 5 and a "vintage" 4. The last would be an Azola EUB for the standard jazz gigs. The anyting goes, any amount of money part doesn't do much for me any more really. I have found that - for me - the extra cost isn't really worth it.

So, I have a nice Yamaha BB605 with Bartolini electronics. That covers one. I have a passive Yamaha BB414 - P/J so that covers two. All I need is the Azola EUB and I'm set.

I have an Eden amp and cab I could trade...any takers?

Fender Jazz (or reasonable facsimile) fretted and fretless as well as a Precision, or something of that sort.

Hmmmm, Probably

Fancy pants 6 string Fretted. Maybe a cliff bordwell, maybe somethign else. This would be my #1.

Pedulla Hexazbuzz, translucent gold. Done deal.

Fender Custom Shop P bass. LAte 50s-Early 60s version, jazz neck instead of P. Charcoal frost metallic nitro. Flats. Would be OK with a Lakland Duck Dunn, but I dont' think they do charcoal frost nitro.

To me, this covers the tones I need. Modern and wide range, fretless, and ultra vintage.

My hollowbody choice would be a Gibson Les Paul Signature. My solidbody choice would be a Fender Roscoe Beck IV and for giggles and grins #3 would be my Taylor acoustic.
