It's not that I look to argue its just you can not argue with video media! Dead means you seize function, the one thing the normal process boils down to is the ingesting, filtering and release of waste.

The idea that an organism as complex as the human body could function (stand upright, move, hunt, eat, etc) while having complete shutdown of any of its major organ systems is scientifically indefensible.

I was less disappointed than I'd expected to be. Enjoyed Brooks' books and knew going in it would be a deviation from them. Appreciated that they'd stayed somewhat true to his international scope, but PG-13 horror movies rarely satisfy like they should.

I think there is a lot a truth in this. We live in a regulated society, bound by red tape and commissions and laws and whathaveyou. It's easy to feel powerless and insignificant and without personal souvereignty. In a postapocalyptic world, crapsack as it may be, you have to rely on yourself and this scratches people's itch for a sense of agency. You might not make it, but at least it was your life. Your failure. You own that, know what I mean?
The zombies are a way to make that experience into even more of a powertrip, because it's basically a cheatcode: You live in a postapocalyptic world where resources are scarce and everyone essentially is the enemy. Now replace almost all those others with mindless, slow lumbering idiots and you effectively have taken most of your competition out of the equation.

Or alternatively: the zombieflick is popular because it pleases your ego. Think about it; you and your friends are the only sane, rational, caring people around in a sea of unthinking, beastlike creature who may resemble humans, but in fact eat them alive. And your group is always in danger of being overwhelmed by these stupid, base-need driven others. I can see how people might relate to that, though they wouldn't necessarily admit that

Accidentally, most zombie flick obey to a set of cinematographic rules, and it's kinda interesting to see different take on the same concepts when you like to analyze movies and how they're made.

I would call WWZ more of an "action" movie than a real "Horror" movie...which is somewhat disappointing...but it was good all the same...
