I had the pleasure of experiencing (for lack of better word) them live and I was blown away. However, I don't like listening to their records... (but I'm not really into that whole Doom/Drone thing in the first place, different strokes for different people I guess).

And for the kids:

I would like to recap with this:

It's cool to dislike something. However, that does not make it a joke, or "not music" (in this case).

Art is subjective. The things that evoke emotions and reactions from one human being are nor necessarily what do it for another one. That is the great thing about music; you have many different styles for many different tastes.

I love bands like Sunn O))), ISIS, The Ocean, Electric Wizard, for example etc...AND I'm not a huge fan of country music.
However, I would not call country music a joke, or ridiculous, because I know that for some people, that's the kind of thing that moves them.
I would expect this same courtesy from the people who are the other way around, and dislike the bands I mentioned.

---------------

Now, on to the Cthulhu worship.

Hahahahaha, the Attila figure is the best. If that was real I'd be first in line.

Isis is one of the few bands I've had tat'd on my body. R'yleh! Great Cthulhu!

Not really. You're bashing someone else's music because it's not something you like. That's totally unnecessary, and when you do it, you should expect to get your own taste bashed in retaliation.

1; I didn't bash anything or anyone.
Just voiced an opinion on one specific video.
That's 'bashing'??
2; Did I ay anything at all about my musical taste?
If I had, I'd have no issues whatsoever with people not liking it and expressing it.
Having issues with it would have prevented me from exposing it to public scrutiny.

You didn't bash anything? Oh really?

Please Tell Me This Is a Joke....

I just listened to the 'song' and would be surprised if it was anything but exactly that.

Me pointing out you have a mall punk member listed on your profile is a personal attack? Actually made me giggle. Weren't you the same person who was needlessly trolling the atheist thread? Sorry if you're offended and let me know if you need a virtual hug. I'll be right here enjoying the genius of sunno)))
I actually didn't troll that thread at all because I'm not a troll. I simply stated my opinion there and left. You must be mistaking me.

Calling someone's music a joke isn't bashing now?

Huh.
It wasn't me that called their music a joke.
Read my short post again.
I answered the Ops question saying that I thought it might well be a joke but not saying that it was. Looking at it again just now I stand by what I said in my first post here.
Them choosing the same name and logo of an amp manufacturer ( I am assuming that the amps were there first...? )underpins this.
That, I find is lame at best.
No-I do not know any more about this band than the video/song and the name/Logo.

Apart from any discussion of their sound, I think it's pretty lame that they just stole the amp maker's name and logo, wholesale. Like the amp, its name, and the logo they came up with? Great. They worked hard to create those things, and to associate them with their product, not a band. Maybe they think they're championing the cause after Fender bought and sunk the amp brand. But it rubs me the wrong way. They're probably nice guys. But this doesn't make a good first impression on me.
