I bet the guy running them live crashed one with too many Pornhub links open at same time the nite before in the motel, he freaked and dumpster tossed them
Without knowing what’s on the laptops and various other relevant information concerning the loss, making assumptions about them is not constructive or wise or fair.

You're approaching this far too rationally, needs more anger, rage, screaming "back in my day" and insults back and forth.
Personally I just enjoy the bad takes and seeing folks expose themselves a bit. lol.

I'm surprised I read the entire thread, and whilst not a huge fan of the music, I'm going to explore some of their other stuff.
The two things I see wrong, are no backups that someone earlier did a good job of covering (sorry, forget who) and they threw the crew under the bus. There are classier, and much funnier ways of saying that without blaming anyone overtly to the public.

Now, that was funny. I'm going to show that to a metal guitarist I know, and watch his discomfort.
That clip gave me an idea for a line in a song I'm working on that's had me blocked for a while. The idea was from the video, not the song.
And sometimes people deserve being condescended to.
Lack of backup equipment for something deemed mission-critical? Check.
Dependency on said backup equipment to the point of being unable to deliver SOME kind of output for the people who've paid for tickets, driven to the concert, etc., etc., etc.? Check.
Publicly blaming the crew, the guys that hump all your stuff all around the country for minimal pay and never get any recognition? Check.
Yep, I'm going to condescend the heck out of them.
Give a show that is not anywhere close to what your fans expect from you.
Given some sort of show vs. no show, well, I'll go for the former.
Provide a uniquely singular event, a performance of their songs that no other crowd will see or hear ever again. Demonstrate how to overcome adversity and still entertain your fans. Give them a story to tell, a memory to savor, the feeling of being in on a secret of sorts with the band.

If your musical act depends on laptops to be able to do a show, someone in the band needs to take responsibility for making sure that they get from one gig to the next. Showing up to the venue, finding out that they're not there, and then blaming the tech crew (we know they did this) is not "making assumptions" - we're discussing a band that didn't think ahead of time, and blamed their mistake on someone else. They have 2 strikes against them at this point - if they don't learn from this fast, they're toast.
Not realizing that your act could fall apart, and taking necessary precautions to get critical gear from one place to the next - that's a rookie mistake, that could be forgiven, providing they learn from it.
Blaming your mistake on others, now you're just being a crappy human being.

His fan base doesn't want an unplugg stripped down show. Matter of fact... I don't see headlines about him losing his fans or being "cancelled"
