Post Pics of Your Pets

Dr.Watson - he was my dog but he was 7 years younger than my old boy "Tank". Eventually he became too much for Tank so we gave him to my step-daughter so she wouldn't be lonely. But he stays with us whenever she goes out of town or such. Some kind of bulldog mix - darn him, he was supposed to be about twice as big as he ended up. He has one blue/coronaed eye. Freaky!!

Darn it, you got the dog I thought I was getting with Watson. He looked big as a puppy, they must have lied about his age...all of 25 lbs now. I bet Maddux weighs out at 55-60. Do you ever rough-wrestle with your bulldogs? You know, you get them in the faux headlock, they act like they are going to chew your arm off, no skin gets broken? I've had big dogs before I would teach to do that nicely. I think I was inspired by seeing Mohammed Ali sparring with a couple of German Shepherds.

Maddux is very cute!! WOOF!

You kidding? He's about 70. They are breeding new variants of bulldogs that are healthier (longer hind legs, longer snout, wider butt, etc.), closer to what they used to be 100 years ago, when they were more working dogs, and less stuffed animals with a heartbeat. He is an Olde English Bulldog", but there are several such breeds. Yes, he likes to play.

Size and weight are hard to judge from a picture. And yeah, he's much leggier than the English BD which often is a weezing, legless wonder of movement. It doesn't take much pulling outward(by breeding) on the snout to make life so much easier. Some people never wrestle with their dogs, fearing it teaches aggression. I think when done as play it can teach big dogs to be gentle unless necessary - they have to screw up to have a teachable moment.

Lot of nice poochs here, big and small. I told my wife I think bass players own more dogs (and cats) than the public average, she thinks not. Hmmf!

When it is a more aggressive/protective breed, or around children, you have to make sure he understands who is boss.

Longer snout makes for better breathing, longer legs/wider hips makes for a dog who loves to run. Modern bulldogs are not healthy dogs.
Agreed on all - my French Bulldog was a much better runner/breather than an English-style dog. And that boss thing - my wife won't keep a dog who thinks it can stare her down, claims they are too defiant.

Aww, she looks so tiny. We had a cat "Nelix" with that color patterning. Hey, much better pics of you; from your avatar one would assume you to have a rounder head. And we wouldn't want more of THAT!!:roflmao:

Only slightly cheaper than kids. Check out bulldog rescue (Invalid Link Removed) for a way to get a dog who really needs an owner. Less likely you will get a puppy, but less expensive, and you know what you are getting - great organization.
Yeah there is one not far away in IL. I read those and they are always sooo sad. Poor perfect Bulldog someday will need a wheelchair because of a spinal defect? I don;t know if I could handle that.

Hey my bass brothers, just stumbled onto this thread this morning and thought I'd share my girl and her story.
Her name is Angel, she is an 11 year old Westie, she is my whole world and all I live for. Last month she was diagnosed with Kidney failure.
This has been the worst month in so many ways as I'm sure maybe alot of you could imagine. I've been fighting to do everything humanly possible to save her life. My life in the financial situation of things the month prior had fallen to an all time code red bad place, and the sickness couldn't have hit at a worse time. But, to be honest there is absolutely no good time for any loved one to get sick, and kidney disease is the worst thing I've ever seen. I can't even afford a cup of coffee these days, let alone have any clue how to to pay for the living expenses I already had a hard enough time trying to conquer the last few months. It's hard but I will do anything for her. Trying to get financial assistance in the vet world has been very disheartening as nobody really seemed to want to help. My niece made a GoFundme page and friends have donated which has honestly made all the difference as without that we could have never gotten this far. We are a long way to go on the goal, and the road ahead is a long and expensive one, but I will do anything I have to so she can be healthy and happy and with me and I with her.
The path we've been fighting side by side the last 4 weeks I will say is going good health wise for Angel, she is a little warrior and she's showing amazing improvement as of right now! She went from super critical almost overnight to fast forward to right now doing amazingly well.
I don't have any vices in life except music and talking music. I don't drink, do drugs, eat junkfood, etc and so forth - music is all of that for me!
So, all of you are really an extended brotherhood to me, even though I don't know any of ya's. I'm still on here daily signed in or not, I have been reading all of your wonderful threads and words for years and years. Only recently have I jumped in and started adding to the fold we all call talking bass. If you guys could do me one favor, bass brother to bass brother, please Share this link for Angel on any of your Facebook or Twitter/social media pages. It would mean the world to us. Thanks all! You guys are the best! God bless you!
