Post Your '51-55 Precision or Tele-inspired bass

A DIM (did it myself) project. Warmoth swamp ash body stained black, 4 coats B. Casey, purposely left open grain. Allparts Tele Bass neck. Custom cut pickguard. MIJ neck p/u and MIK bridge p/u. Dual concentric tone and volume knobs. Not quite done yet. Nut needs to be glued down, after market Fender decal to be applied. Nice sound! Can almost pull off a Stingray with pickups blended.

This was intentionally a low effort build with quality parts.

That's nice, though I would have opened up a little truss rod access, myself...

I've been collecting cigar boxes for about a year, and my plan when I have enough is to patchwork them together into a top for a slab body SCPB. I've also got a fantastic slab of flamed maple for the neck.

I've got a few other projects to finish first but hope to have it playable by the end of the year.

Thank-you for your compliment, Chef! Coming from you, an honor!

Just like you, I considered a notched truss rod access in the pickguard but since the guard lifts off with only the removal of the screws, I chickened out. I spent too much time hand cutting the pickguard and I was afraid of schmucking it.

Warmoth already has an access trench in the body. Once the guard is off, a screw driver is easily inserted into the truss rod nut.

I'll post more photos in the future after it's 100% finished.
