post your good news here!

After about 5 years of being divorced and suffering 4 deaths in the family (including my daughter's mother), I have finally met and began seeing a wonderful woman. I truly respect, admire, and adore her, and she thinks I'm pretty OK too. I've not been this happy in a very long, long time.

Don't know what your work is but if you're meeting all of your deadlines that helps. I do ALL of my photoshops on the company computer. I used to get a little flack for being online until they realized I did twice as much work as the next fastest person. Sorry to toot my horn.

The point is if your getting things done it shouldn't matter.

Yup. My boss knows about my extrenuous internet use while I work. I dont want to put it exactly this way, but I kinda get a free pass about it. Exactly like you said it, my work is done twice as fast, and to perfection everytime.

While I'm tootsin around talkbass, my boss is reading the newspaper and watching golf and nascar online. Doesn't stop us from helping the customers who come in. Does not thrill the division manager, though, for us not to be constantly calling the guys who haven't been here in a while

So, I survived my bachelor party, and the wedding is still on!

caveat ~ lots of irresponsible behavior follows, and I wont take **** from any of you for it. That said, a recap:

Woke up Saturday at 8:30am, got to my parents an hour later to see my 3 friends who were going already waiting, and drinking beer.

Picked up a few 6packs, then my Dad & brother were ready to go. Stopped at Costco & picked up 2 liters of Makers Mark & 2 liters of 1800 silver. Began the drive up th 15. A few road beers and a key bump later we arrive at Stateline. Have a couple $1 brews, lose a little money on craps and away we go. Get to our room around 5pm, by now we've drank at least 60 beers, with more chilling on ice in the bathtub.

Outing one, one man napping, walked from Circus Circus (our room was across the street @ Travelodge) down to Treasure Island. Went up, went down, blew $50 on one hand of Blackjack. Did I mention we had a lot of beer with us? Got some giant delicious slices of pizza and trek back to the room. Its about 9pm, now the fun begins.

We crack open the liquor and drink for an hour or so before outing #2. Im not a Tequila man, but everyone else almost finished that bottle while I cracked open the Makers. A little after 10 its off to the strip again, this time we bring the whiskey with us. Headed into the Encore, which was close by, and played a little more Blackjack. Dad is ready to crash, so off he goes. My brother is propositioned by a well dressed man with illegal substances. Grab a taxi and head to MGM Grand. Interesting taxi ride, making use of newly obtained substance. Off we go walking the strip, giant booze bottle in hand. We were like the Kings of the Strip! Everyone watching and cheering as we down the bottle, some people ask for a sip. Every hot chick, of course there were a lot of them, was offered booze, only few were brave enough to take us up on the offer. Meet some stripper who tries to get us into a club and laugh as we walk away. At this point we're all already broke. Bumps left and right. At this point things get a little fuzzy. we lost 3 different friends at various times, but we ended up running into each other again. We meet some girls, my brother chats one up and disappears. We get kicked out of 2 casinos cuz our bottle is drawing too much attention. My friend Justin, barefoot, climbs a palm tree. We meet a couple who lives a few cities away from me back home and party with them, smoking herb out on the strip. We met some Canadians from Saskatchewan (sic?) and party with them. When the booze was finally gone it appeared the sun was coming up. Walked the strip as morning broke, and crashed til 11.

fyi, this story has been heavily edited, maybe not quite enough, but youve got enough to put together a picture of how all this went down.

Got home Sunday @ 8pm, showered, loaded up my gear, and went off to play a show.

Surviving your bachelor party in vegas without: landing in jail, waking up with a face tattoo or waking up without a tooth is pure win.

Definitely good news for you Matticus. Too bad all the luvin's about to stop ;)

Sure was win! We were crazy reckless in Vegas and no one even got hurt! No crazy stories to keep from the missus either.

But no way is the lovin about to stop. I'll be sure to warn her that if it does Im going to go hit up Eric Perrys girlfriend.

After 6 months of being unemployed (at will) and after about 3 days of not very intense resume emailing I got a offered a job (that I didn't even apply for) by an acquaintance who happens to be the head chef at a hoity toity restaurant literally 15 blocks from my house. He is also the guitarist in one of my favorite local bands (https://www.facebook.com/HoovesBand) a band we've shared a stage with several times.

I've got experience in food service and even though I'm pretty jaded toward amateur restaurant owners this place seems way more legitimate then any other food service job I've had.

Welcome to Mizuna.com

I'm hella pumped and have a great feeling about this job. Seems like a great set of new challenges. I start on Monday.
