Post Your Pedalboard: Part 10, X Rated!

I know I recently posted my board but I've got a looper now and changed the layout a lot.

I will have a Korg DT-10 on the way soon, so that's going to go between the echobox and Octron. The Octavus Squeezer is going where the looper is, so that means' I'll have to find a new home for that (I think I might need to get a mini loop instead, like the Keeley one, but I will probably get it from Loop-master). The Humming bird Trem will go on the bottom left (to the left of the Maxon). And I might swap the 442 out for an Analogman Clone chorus at some point. The signal chain isn't set in stone yet, I will have more freedom to choose what I want when I get some George L's. I'm thinking the signal will go something like this... Woolly Mammoth -> Cream pie > Octavus Squeezer > Blueberry > Octron > 442/Clone chorus > Looper (moog in the loop) > Maxon > Hummingbird > Korg DT-10 > Echobox. Could anyone give me a way to fit a tiny looper (catalinbread mini, keeley mini loop etc sized) on this board?!

Nice Board! I really like the mammoth into the blueberry ( I have my mammoth and blueberry's tone a little less rolled off for that). Gets rid of a lot of the harsh industrial stuff that people don't like about the mammoth.

I don't know how that cream pie fits into the board, but with two OD-ish pedals, have you tried one before filters and one after? I think I tend towards brighter settings on my pedals, so this might not work for ya, but not I like OD>filter and filter>OD both ways a lot... And with the mammoth in the mix, some of the bets tones I've ever found were mommoth> moogerfooger filter> English muff'n. Not as good with the blueberry, but might be worth trying with the creampuff if you haven't.

Nice board, but wouldn't it be easier to have the looper down the front, so you can leave the other pedals on and control them via looper?

I'd swap the blueberry and 442 to where the looper is and put the looper in the newly created space!

well, i am very happy with my current set up now. all the pedals i have are very useful and great sounding, that really suits my needs. problem is, if i keep on moving to different gigs every night, it hurts my arms cos its heavy!

so i am planning to make my board a bit smaller. i did all the time to think which pedal i should take out to make it really small. but no luck, they are all precious to me. so for now, i will be removing the looper, the ac outlet, the dc brick and gator g-bus 8 power supplies. i will be using 1 spot to power all my pedals. all my pedals will be in the smaller board. my board at the moment is 15 X 22, i am going have 12 X 24. not that much difference but it surely will be smaller and lighter.

i also made some re-arranging. i put the MXR M-80 where i can step on it easily, i use the distortion pedal for slap sound instead of distortion. and i put the polish love before the supercollider, i get a more vintage sound when its combined. but usually i just use them separately. well it saves space too!

my chain will be: X2 > wah > pitchblack > af9 > polish love > supercollider > analogman > rv3> compulator > mxr m-80

so my board at the moment:

its still in the process of planning. but once i got the 1 spot, i will try first if i could power all my pedals with one adapter. and see if there would be hum problems. if everything goes well, then i will order my custom pedalboard. approximate build time for my new board is 10 to 15 days.

(BTW, these setting aren't what I actually use, sometimes I just end up fiddling with them with my toes when watching tv or something, and a lot of them got moved around when i was making a layout :p).

thanks for the suggestions though! I will definitely be having a play with the combos and positions when I get everything together.

Ahh but then the Octavus Squeezer would have nowhere to go! As I said in the original post, I need to get one of the mini loopers but I don't know where I could possibly fit it.

Yeah, the Reverbmate takes up alot of real estate, but it sounds fantastic, especially in the higher range. I have tried others, but this one is here to stay---I just have to deal with the size.

Yeah, I was actually considering that. I don't use too many effects, and even when I do, I just use them to spice up a solo, or to change things up on the bridge.

If I need more space, the tuner or the Wooly Mammoth can go. If I still need more, I will try to use the top of the Reverbmate. I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Thanks for giving me my next answer whenever someone asks me why I need so many pedals. My 2 year old's favorite game currently is Count Daddy's Pedals. He counts them from 1-10, then either starts back at 1 or tries 11-20, depending on if he's getting some help on the numbers he can't remember or not.

As you can see, my pedalboard is in a state of flux. It used to be a straight guitar board, but now it will be a bass/guitar board with heavy emphasis on the bass. I intend to add a bad monkey, a zoom B2 (both in that mini looper) and a nice boutiquey delay.

i guess i am stopping my "pedal swapping" just for now. i found the OD and FUZZ that i want. plus all the others too. i could still swap again but i will have to take something with the same size as my pedals. that limits me from doing it often, that saves my money too!!! :)

the looper, i love it! but to make my board smaller, i have to remove it. i can still play without it anyway. but i'm keeping it, and also my big board just in case i want my big board back. ;)

i wanted to do that, but its the lack of space that keeps me from doing it. if i put it first before the wah, it means my input will be the pitchblack, not possible because its in between the wah and X2. that would be very difficult in case i ran out of battery with my X2 and needed to use a cable. if i put it at the end, i won't be able to use the DI of my M-80. so i guess its stays in that place. its true bypass anyway, i could put it anywhere without affecting my overall tone. but thanks for the suggestions anyway. :)

One more time, maybe for good. Added the Fulltone '70 fuzz to my board today. By itself, it's kinda noisey, but it's used primarily with the Mail Bomb filter, which quiets it down completely. Was considering the Xotic BB, but came across the Fulltone and nabbed it. Nice synthy goodness with the two together. I still have enough "other" pedals to set up another board, but I think not. Instead, I'll wheel'n deal 'em for something else, sometime. This is the prettiest and neatest I've ever had it, so marvel at that if you will.:bassist: So, how do I post bigger pics?
