As long as it the same sizne adapter, and 9volt, One Spot and Godlyke both have connectors that will switch the polarity.

You would think that to be the case but it isn't. In fact, I purchased the One Spot reverse polarity connector for this exact purpose. When I hooked it all up, nothing worked.

I did some research and it turns out that when you link two or more items together on a common power supply that are reverse polarity from each other, they essentially cancel each other out so the result is none of them work. I'm no electronics guru so I don't know the exact science behind it, but there it is.

Hey- what's the beef on the Octron? looking to get one, and am particulary interested in the upped octave sound you get?

As I reviewd on another thread string the upper octave is an octavia. I typically keep the setting relatively low (no higher than 12 o'clock) so that it adds just a slight growl to the sub octave. When you crank it up, it is a very nasally fuzz, but with the sub octave going on you can retain some lows. With chorus, you can get some very synthy sounds to it. At first, I wasn't too big on the upper octave, but I am staring to warm up to it.

Yes- having a Bass Octave Fuzz and a Wolly Mammoth in the same set up is over kill.

Indeed. I was hoping that the blend feature on the BOF would help tame it a little so that I could get a more subtle fuzz sound but such is not the case. Once a beast, always a beast and there is no taming it.

I couldn't say whether the BOF was any good with active basses or not as I never bothered dusting off my active to try it out. To be honest, the Mammoth is the reason I switched to passive bassed a few years ago, I was that enamored with the sound coming out of that little box. I haven't looked back since.

Its great, very transparent. I don't having any RF problems. I use if for just a little limiting.

yes i was looking at them instead of getting an analogman becuase you can get subtle to extreme compression on it.

Yep, The analogman comp is really nice, but I feel the controls a limiting, and same with the keely comp. I can't quite dial it in like I want it for bass, They are the best for guitar, but for bass I prefer the Carl Martin.

im thinking about getting a analogman bicomp, can it do subtle compression on my fender passive jazz bass. i heard on active its not to hot but then again active basses imo are not really big on tone, just big on bass and treble boost.

Finally took a pic of my board.
I modified my Pedalpad slightly as you can see, I added a handle on one side and casters on the opposite side. Pick it up and roll it along, works like a charm.

I'm using the power supply that came with the pedalpad (under the korg tuner) and I also have a voodoo lab pedal power2 mounted below on the left side of the board.

Order: Bass-->loooper-->amp. The first loop has everything on the board except the MXR m80.

Signal order out of the first loop is -->EBS-->Depth Charge
-->Prunes+Custard
-->Emma-->Bassdrive-->HBE Hematoma-->HBE Big D-->HBE Psilocybe-->Choralflange-->Delay

Loop 2 is just the MXR DI

Tuner out of the loooper goes to the Korg tuner.

I also mounted a rack light at the top of the board for sh**ts and giggles. The second pic kind of shows the different colors in the dark. oooohh. "lions and tigers and bears oh my"

im really interested in your homebrew peddles, how is that phaser?can it do the funky wah-ee sound? Also i have a fulltone bassdrive, i only have a small board and was considering selling it for an HBE overdrive as its a bit smaller, also can the big D get fuzzy sounds? and why so many distortion peddles?

Crap- big dissapointment. I'm looking for a good pedal that will give a distinct clean and natural upper octave and perfer analog.

Yes- and that's why I love mine. I was looking for a nasty, face ripping fuzz ala Timmy C and it fits the bill for me perfectly.

Well, I can confirm that it works well with active basses, for what it does. I hear the mammoth is no good with actives though.

Thanks. Homebrew makes fantastic pedals. The Psilocybe phaser sounds excellent on bass and yes, it is capable of the funky "wah woh eee" sound. It has 2 toggle switches, one is kind of like a low end cut and the other changes the sweep of the phase. This phaser is mild compared to others, it helps to have a little overdrive before it if you want a more pronounced phase sound. Since I didn't want a crazy phase effect, this fits me perfectly. It sounds AWESOME for slapping and adding texture to clean tones.

The Hematoma overdrive has an overall "dark" sound to it but still pretty versatile. Perfect for playing black sabbath-esque tones to give you an idea. I'm constantly A/Bing it with my fulltone. The fulltone is capable of doing VERY subtle overdrive while the hematoma, even on the lowest gain, is not as subtle. I'm not sure if I can recommend one over the other just yet, I'm still experimenting.

The Big D is without a doubt one of the most versatile overdrive, distortions I've tried and I have it on my board for this very reason. I have it set to a slight overdrive when I turn it on, and a screaming distortion with the boost switch. On certain diode settings it is capable of fuzz, but not the type that a dedicated fuzz pedal will give you. It retains the low end just as good as the hematoma. wonderful pedal.
