My my my... My first post on this great forum. I've been reading all the 150 pages or so of the Post Your Pedalboard topics so far with a great attention. This in order to have a glimpse at the way you guys organize and set your pedals, how you power 'em up and have an idea about making one of those beautful nice, clean and tight-neat pedal boards! ;)

Anyway, here's my noise factory, please apology for this very blurry picture:

Signal path goes:

Bass -> DOD 250 Preamp / Overdrive -> DOD FX25 Envelope Filter -> Electro-Harmonix Bass Balls -> DOD FX72 Bass Stereo Flanger -> Maxon AF-9 Envelope Filter -> DOD FX92 Bass Grunge -> Boss FT-2 Dynamic Filter w/ Roland EV-5 Expression Pedal -> Digitech DigiDelay ->
Boss TU-15 Tuner -> MXR Phase 90 -> MXR Micro Amp -> Boss CE-2B Bass Chorus -> Electro-Harmonix Q-Tron+ -> Amp

As you can see, I'm an envelope filter freak. Especially when coupled with distortion and delay... it creates such cool, weid, spacey, Bootsy kind of sounds !!


After many different combinations, after having tried many pedal orders and signal paths, I eventually chose to set the pedals in that order. The Q-tron+ is not properly in the pedalboard, but because it was just taking the dust in my shelves... so I grabbed it and plugged it in! I'm so in love with that specific aquatic and juicy sound.

The BassBalls has been modified by TB user Basstyra to add two controls on the top of the pedal, which allows me to tweak the low and high frequencies of the filters. I love the combination of the Maxon AF-9 or EHX Q-Tron with the BassBalls, very human-vocalizer kind of sounds.

The Roland EV-5 is very useful, as it allows me to use the Boss FT-2 as a real wha pedal, instead of an envelop filter. I've never used a real wha pedal, such as a Dunlop Cry Baby Bass, so I can't really tell you if the sound is very wha-ish or not, but I enjoy it very much. With the DOD Bass Grunge, it produces similar sounds to an EHX Bass Micro Synthetizer.

All the pedals are powered with Cioks power supplies - Baby John [5 x 9V] and Big John [7 x 9V] - and wired together with Yellow Cables. The pedalcase is a Medium Warwick Rockcase pedal board, just the right size for all the stompboxes to fit in!

WELCOME TO TALKBASS! im the forum's 13 yr old. you will fit in here perfectly with all of those effects! here in effects we are a tight-nit bunch. we welcome you with open arms.:)
