Overdriven bass tones can still be heard in a band mix (if you set it up right), but as you start getting into the realm of fuzz, it's important to realize that fuzz is one of those effects where the music needs to be crafted around it, to a degree. If your guitarist is playing heavy metal, chances are you'll get lost in the mix unless you're using a mid-boosted fuzz (and not everyone likes how that sounds). If your guitarist isn't going so far in terms of distortion, you'll have the chance to shine through. Fuzz isn't something that can fit in anywhere.

Take a band like Muse for example... a lot of fuzz and synth effects are used on bass, but they're very careful on how the guitar is applied over it. It's easy to overlap someone else's sonic spectrum when everyone's tones are distorted.

Is there much difference between the Script logo Phase 90 and the Block logo? I had a block one that was pretty nice sounding. The vintage scripts are worth a bit

To my ears there is a difference. I've actually put them side by side in a comparison with a close friend that is a studio producer and we could hear a difference between them. The script one was "darker" or "warmer" in tone. Not too sure if it's the components or how the components have aged....either way it sounds great!

You're right about being pricey these days....the script ones are getting a little steep.

I have connectors and some GS-4 on order.... so I have to wait to wire it up.

The chain runs:

Blender (being built) -> Comprossor (upgrading to a Bi-Comprossor)-> KOT -> Dunlop Wah (getting BYOC guts) -> Thor -> Nano Stone -> AD9 Analog Delay -> back to Blender

The signal goes Bass > TU-2 > Ernie Ball Volume Pedal JR > Fulltone Bassdrive MOSFET > MXR/Custom Audio Electronics Boost/Line Driver > Boss ODB-3 > MXR Doubleshot Distortion > MXR Bass Blowtorch > Boss GEB-7 > Boss CEB-3 > MXR Phase 90 > Boss NS-2 > Boss RV-5 > Boss DD-3 > MXR Bass D.I.+ > Amp

All 9v pedals are powered by the TU-2 and the NS-2 the 18v pedals are powered by a Dunlop 18v adapter

Hey spanky post a picture of your board again, i saw it the other day whilst browsing (the one with the ampeg sub-blaster right?)

whats your opinion on this pedal? does it work well in corporation with other fuzz pedals tuned to D or lower playing heavy music? im intruiged i want one. I need that stomach churning bottom end.

the phase 90 has a trim pot on the inside, it changes the depth of the effect (i think)... it does something anyways...
