I know, I am new here, and I know this is an old thread, but I'll play along too...
My "Studio" space is a work in progress, it is a shared workspace with music, podcasting, and IT / home office functions which means recording studio space shares space with a small server rack and the associated fans, the main air conditioning unit for the house just outside the window, and noise complications all that poses. The space is changing rapidly. Present space is the largest of the non master bedrooms in the house, and is about to be moved to the smallest (with some creative furnishing to make everything fit properly).

Nice and comfy executive leather desk chair. needs a new gas cylinder but other than that it actually is nice. This was new in 2001 as well.

Lenovo Flex2 15D laptop with AMD A8 6410 quad core @ 2.0 ghz, 8GB RAM, and 1TB HDD. Not sure what kind but it IS fast... Running Windows 8.1 64 bit. Audio software pretty much what Behringer included with the PodcastStudio USB set, so Audacity, yes I downloaded the latest release, and all the goodies that go with it. Also Tracktion 4, which I am clueless on how to use. I also am running CyberLink PowerDirector 12 for video work on this thing.
Clone Desktop PC with AMD Athlon II quad core @ 2.6 ghz, 32 GB RAM, and 1TB HDD. Running CentOS 6.x and Hydrogen Drum machine.
2 @ home made accoustic dampening blankets (moving blankets with brass grommets added by yours truly) hung via brass screw hooks.
Accoustic challenge in new space...
I am a system admin by trade, and have a small LAN rack with cluster servers, storage, and networking gear. I have gone to great lengths to quiet it down, but I WILL be using one of the accoustic blankets in front of this rack to isolate the noise from this to my mic.
Gear updates / wishlist...
I bet we all have a wish list mine is...
#1. Sell the PodcastStudio USB setup, or gift it to one of my family members that is a guitarist, and has no recording capacity at all. My Brother in law springs to mind. The XENYX 502 is too small for my uses, the XM8500 mic is far from my favorite, as are the included headphones.
#2. Relegate the XENYX 1202FX to road recording duties, it stows nicely in that Nady mic bag anyway... And replace it on the desk with a XENYX QX2442USB, Or Eurorack SX2442.
#3. Add a guitar amp, probably tap Fender once again for a Champion 100, or maybe a Mustang III guitar amp. Leaning heavily toward the Champion.
#4. Add 2 to 4 more of the moving blanket accoustic dampening blankets.
#5. Add 3 more of the Behringer HPS3000 headphones. 1 for road duty, 2 more to fill out studio work.
#6. 3 more Behringer C-1 mics with Neewer shock mounts.
Made a couple of changes / strides toward the remodel / move today. Swapped out the pop filter for a foam ball windscreen / pop filter. The kind that mounts to the mic stand just got on my nerves too much.. And I have 2 of the 3 mounting boards put up so that I can wall hang my basses, as well as our guitars, cables, headphones and other gear.
Relatively shortly, I will be mounting up my switch rack, then pulling EVERYTHING out of this room, ripping up the flooring, patching the walls, painting ceiling, then walls, then trim and doors, swapping out the light switches and outlets for new Decora units, swapping the ceiling fan / light fixture for a new one, and lastly, putting down laminate flooring. And finally the move in. I am going to probably be out of my office / music room for at least 2 weeks while I get this junk done...
