Probably doesn't help that you had the fingerboard epoxied. Having a brighter sound tends to reveal flaws in your intonation a little more than something with a dull sound.

Still a great bass. I wish Kahler had a wider 5 string bridge. Not sure if I could hang with that sort of spacing or not without trying it.

Actually they do have one with 18mm, but i thought it will be too much for me and i went with 15mm:eek: Yes, i was worried too but also kind of knew that it'll be just fine because of my pretty small hands and fingers. And i was right, fortunately:) no problems with string spacing

That must be relatively new. When I ordered mine, I asked if they had a wider 5 than the stock 15mm. They told me they could probably machine it for me, but it would be really expensive. Perhaps someone wanted it bad enough to foot that bill. I would have thought a standard 18-19mm would probably work since you can always slide the saddles closer together for narrow spacing. Can't move 'em out if there's no room.

I wonder if the Bigsby vibratos on the Gretsch bass VI's are any different than the model B5 used for regular guitars... I plan to get a Schecter Hellcat VI and the idea of installing a Bigsby unit on it is very appealing... Not sure if there's enough room between the bridge and the butt end of the instrument for one though... But bolting on an external Bigsby-style vibrato (plus dropping on a roller bridge) seems to be the easiest and least-invasive method for adding a vibrato unit to the instrument.
