Probably doesn't help that you had the fingerboard epoxied. Having a brighter sound tends to reveal flaws in your intonation a little more than something with a dull sound.
Still a great bass. I wish Kahler had a wider 5 string bridge. Not sure if I could hang with that sort of spacing or not without trying it.
