Double Bass Potential Ohio DB amp shootout/hang/axecheck/ belchfest

So May 8 has a small window for me. I got a thing I can't get out of that kills me until noon and we need to be out of the kungfu dude's place before 3.

I may be able to get the studio down the street and give us until 5ish when I need to get onto the gig.

Fellas got another day you could do?

Damn you, kungfu dude!!! :spit:

Interestingly, the Cinese word Gung Fu literally means "leisure time"...in addition to the intense butt-kicking action involved.

Our Gung Fu does not seem good! I'm pretty booked up these days with a steady Fri-Sun gig schedule and one or two here & there during the week...

Maybe you guys could suggest weekdays that work best -- and I'll see about rearranging my schedule.

Otherwise, if we go too late into May, I might have to start belching into plastic bags to get rid of the intense GAS this thread is causing me!

A note about Dave Powers -- yes, he is amazing. He plays in the Burgh a coupla times a month with my guitarist Tony Janflone Jr. and a wild & crazy jazz drummer named Spider Rondinelli. DP sat in on one of our Sunday Blues gigs and tore the roof off the sucka. He has very good Gung Fu! (insert karate chop emoticon here) Not only does he know every tune...he knows every dirty joke too and isn't afraid to tell them!

Tuesday is good, Thursday is better.

We don't need to use Kung Fu Charlie if we end up with half a dozen of us or less. We could do my home studio. It's a basement thing about 400 sq ft. I can move the PA and drums out and it would be fine for a small group. Kung Pao Marine's space is like 1500 sq ft. That would be for a bigger thing. Maybe better with a bunch of Double Basses.

My tuesday gig hits at 6 and I'd need about 1 hour travel and setup time so I'd need to wrap up at 4:30 on Tuesday. If we do Tuesday I'll make all of you play rock and country tunes at Hoggies BBQ outside.

Thursday is an empty calender day for me so no limits there. I can start as early as you like. I brew the best coffee in town so I'll make your head right.

So I'm counting 5 wait no 6 on the list that I can see. Mike would be 7 if you wanna cash in them miles.

Anybody else?

Oh yea and I'll have a couple VL208s nobody needs to cart theirs if they don't want to. A Walter Woods, an AMT. My Cleveland with Animas. I could cart an old German Ply with Dominants or maybe the old Kay with Guts if sombody wants to try them (I really should sell them both).

If we do my house you can all oogle my collection of old Fenders...

I'm not much of a DB guy anymore, so I was not really considering attempting to work this out... until you said this... as long as if (BIG if) I can, it wouldn't be one too many people. :)

The more the merrier. Just say your in and it's so.

I'll bring a couple of the old Fenders no matter where we go. They like being shown off.

Waiting on the Bowluster's schedule...
