Can someone confirm that these are okay to be strung through-body?
Also, no issue with the main body of the E string wrapping around the tuning post.
Yes, they are. Also, no issue with the main body of the E string wrapping around the tuning post.
I know these will take some time to break in, but after about 45 minutes of playing, already starting to sound really nice.
Which set did you get?
I just acquired a new American Professional series Jazz Bass, on which I wanted to counter my roundwound-strung 2014 American Standard Jazz Bass by setting this one up with flatwound strings. Ran them through the body, which actually ended up in the silk on the E string lining up almost exactly with the tuning post.
Pretty in purple... NICE!
What about the rest of the bass, though?![]()
This was before installing the new strings:
Uh oh you guys. I recently splurged on a set of TI flats. I think the tone of the TIs works a bit better for me, but they are way more loose feeling than the GHS P Flats I had on before. I love the tone on the TIs, but I miss the feel of the CM3050s. P Bass + flats + Pick is the tone for me, but I tend to pick pretty hard and with the low tension I can barely play the TIs with a pick at all.
