Praise Report: GHS Precision Flats

Just put a brand new set of CM3050 on my Jazz. The tension is perfect, not too floppy or tense, just right and very well balanced. Also my first PF set since they reformulated the 105 E and it sounds great, and the whole set sounds more balanced than the last set (although I did string it through the body that time...). I think I have found my ideal set of strings.

A personal report of great praise indeed! You are well appreciated brother man.

As a "balanced tension enthusiast" I was happy when GHS came out with the CM3050 set last year. If I were to put these strings on my Jazz, that would be set I would choose. For now, we'll see how the 3025 set will do on my P.

they are nice, if you like a lighter guage set you can buy singles from juststrings.com and do 40 55 75 100 and that's balanced tension as well. that's what i'm using now.

Never hindered Ray Charles, or Blind Lemon Jefferson.

I did it! GHS Precision Flats 3025 (45-95) officially on my Am Std P.

Gone is the green...

A few quick things to note for now:
  • As I was taking them out of the package and uncoiling them, I couldn't help noticing how pliable they actually feel for flats. In fact, they feel more flexible than the Pressurewounds.
  • They feel and LOOK silky smooth. No blotchy spots like the ones I've seen on some La Bella flats.
  • The purple silk is darker and richer-looking than I expected. It doesn't clash with the sunburst/tort/rosewood of my P like the bright green on the BNs did.
  • Does the fact the main body of the E string rides up on the tuning post irritate my OCD like I had feared? No. Why? Because I'm supposed to be friggin' blind!:D
Give me a few weeks to give them a good workout before posting my first impressions. Stay tuned...
