Praise Report: GHS Precision Flats

Whether you call it curiosity; experimentation, or exploration every sonic expedition has it's associated cost. This is why, when you find a string that really 'does it' for you, you stick with it.

I've done enough experiments in the last 6 yrs to know what "does it for me" now. It's a good feeling.

I wish I could say the Precision Flats were IT, but ...

Same here. I've played GHS for many years. Bass Boomers first, and I still like them. I've got the medium set of Balanced Nickels on my American Professional Precision, and a brand new factory fresh set for backup when needed. My American Standard Jazz has the light set of Balanced Nickels with a factory fresh set of the new balanced construction Round Core Bass Boomers to try when the time comes. I'm sure I'm going to like them, and then I can make a well informed choice as to which set I like best.

You’re in for a treat with the Round Cores, they definitely replaced the Boomers and Super Steels for me. Best strings GHS has ever made. Hands down.

Oh yeah I played them when they first came out three years ago. Review: GHS Round Core Bass Boomers and kept them on there until I wanted to try a set of Balanced Nickels on that same Jazz. Now that round core Boomers are newly manufactured with balanced string construction I look forward to writing a new updated review. Probably early next year.

Last night I tried a set of RC Boomers
(ML-3045) on my Spector Euro 4 bass. Wasn’t pleased with them on the Spector so I might need to order a batch of Balanced Nickel from GHS. I have to admit my expectations were high with RC Boomers on the Spector but that just goes to show you that not all basses can play fairly with RC Boomers :crying:

New convert to Precision flats here! Had some d'addario XLs on my new/first bass for a few weeks, but based on YouTube vids and just listening to some funky stuff I figured I need that flatwound sound. Luckily the local luthier had some GHS PF 3050s that I had heard good stuff about, so it was an easy decision while he was setting up the bass anyways!

They feel SO good.

I sold this one-of-a-kind bass to a left handed bass player out of the Nashville area. I needed to raise funds for my impending funeral. I need: a casket; embalming, and hearse transportation. My life is soon to come to an end and it is important that all my 'ducks' are in a row.
Hi @Linnin my dear brother , thank you for posting this very personal and sad information. Please let us know how and where we can donate if possible to help cover the cost of sending you off to what good thing lies beyond this life. I pray that you will stay with us a while longer my friend...

I can no longer support embalming as an environmentally friendly action. And if you are choosing a particular wood for your casket for its "tone wood" qualities... well, I may have to pass there, too. :D

Nope, thread must not die.

I've decided in my quest to building exclusively left-handed instruments that my basses will come standard with either GHS Pressurewounds, or more likely, Precision flats.

Because more people gotta know. They gotta know what real wood sounds like.
