Greg,

I'm also leaning towards the "Dickens" set-up.

I had an El Whappo & a Whappo Grande, they were cool but not my thing.

The Whappo didn't have enough db's compared to the full range cabs used with it. I use a Mesa with an EV 1x18 that works great & has a broader Hz range(IMO & IME). I tried to love it but...Now, I'm dying to try a 2x12 sub & if it kills, it'll be added to my arsenal...

I've played an Accugroove 2x10L that was nice & I also like the Meyers sound/performance, but not their weight or $$$.

My current rig sounds great but I'm always looking to improve...

When I look at that photo of killer gear, all I can think of is...

Those poor fish! :D :help:

I went tot the shop this afternoon to test some amps, and the salesman advised me to go with a head, because with a pre/power setup, my sound wouldn't be as good as with a head. Just for the record, I was checking the Ampeg SVP-PRO.
Can anyone tell me it's safe to buy a qsc RMX amp with an Ampeg SVP-CL or SVP-PRO? I tested the pro with the ampeg power-amp, and it sounded great

I have to say that the dealer you went to was asserting their opinion on you. You should try out different heads, and pre/power combinations to see what you like. then make your decision.

And I do believe that it is safe, and good to buy an RMX power amp and any of the Ampeg preamps. They should sound really good. Let me guess. The salesman told you that it wouldn't work. If so, you might not want to buy anything from him. He's an idiot. B Easy
