Professions with the biggest egos that you have observed ?

Some of you people don't understand the question.

Being irritated by the stupid/incompetent/lazy/ignorant has nothing to do with your ego...especially when they're increasing your work/stress load.

Being serious about what you do in a world full of people who aren't serious about anything isn't egotistical.

Waffles. Ego. Leggo my ego..Geddit? Hah!

Impersonators. My father backed up this one guy once who impersonated Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and George Jones. He started commanding the band, telling them to do it his way, they weren't doing it right, they're not good enough, et cetera. My dad just said "just shut the **** up and sing. We're going to do it our way because our way is better. You're an impersonator, you don't have any real talent." As my father said, he had to walk sideways into a room because his head was so big.

Years later, I was with my girlfriend at the Legion and he was doing a show. Well there he was, on stage...With his wife manning the laptop as he sang to midi files. My girlfriend's mom had inadvertently pissed them off at the end of their set, too. It was beautiful.

High end retail workers, perhaps?

I'll say Lawyers and Notaries.

I've worked in a bank and these two had to be treated like kings because of the volume of money they make. Now I work for the state and I deal everyday with notaries I can believe how stupid some of them are!! Now I don't have to kiss their a**** anymore, they kiss mine !

I have to laugh, because those mentioned here are probably more obvious than others. As a manufacturing engineer, I have had the >somber< opportunity to work with Materials managers/buyers. Good God, you'd think these people crapped gold bars for a living. I have never met a more smug "lower tier" group in my life.
