Profit off Armageddon?

When the rapture happens, I will be in heaven with Jesus. Anybody that is left behind is more than welcome to any of my stuff as I will no longer be needing it anymore.

Also on a side note, many of you are confusing the rapture and the end of the world. The Bible does not teach that. It does teach a rapture will happen, then a 7 year period of tribulation before Christ returns and sets up His kingdom. After He reigns on earth for 1,000 years, He will actually introduce and new heaven and new earth. The word though in the original language when talking about new is not necessarily meaning new as in different heaven and different earth but can also mean new as in the current one we live in will be made new again or re-created for all of eternity so technically, there may never actually be an end of the earth.

Now for those that have said insulting things to us that believe the Bible, first off, thank you for showing some respect for something you may not agree with. I'm sure if I came on here and said the same exact things I did not agree with, I would be banned or have my posts removed. I'm not saying this to start a flame war but instead, how about asking someone as myself why we believe what we believe and do we have any hard evidence as to if it will happen or not. You may be surprised at what our answers would be.

No offense, but no one has "hard evidence" when anyone suggests otherwise, they lose any & all credibility, IMHO.

I'm not saying some faith isn't involved but concerning the Bible and prophecy, 1/3 of the Bible is prophecy. There were 330 prophecies regarding Jesus' 1st coming. Every single one was fulfilled. In regards to His second coming, there are even more and we are starting to see those prophecies rapidly fulfilled thus why I believe the Bible to be true. Heck, look at Israel becoming a nation again. Any time any nation was ever dispersed from their land and conquered, they assimilated into other cultures completely within 100 years. There are prophecies that speak about the end times and a major sign would be Israel coming back into their land again and their nation being reborn once again. This happened in 1948 after almost 2000 years of the Jews not having a homeland yet they also never assimilated into other cultures but kept their own identity as a people.

I could give further examples but some of the prophecies mentioned were not just little things that could easily happen. Most were very specific and were then fulfilled and because every prophecy that has said would be fulfilled has been fulfilled, when it talks about these future prophecies, I am confident that they too will also come true. With the rapture though Jesus said nobody will know the day so I do reject any person who sets dates as to such things but these are some of the reasons why I believe what I believe.

Isn't the same true of many of the Climate change "scientists" who have prognosticated an Armageddon of sorts? I don't think dubious credibility is limited to religion. :eyebrow:

Look at movies like "Day after Tomorrow," wasn't that a running commercial for an "end times" scam? It sure seemed so to me. Although in fairness to the Hollywood propagandists the "left behind" flicks were just as bad. :D

And I get it, people who are fooled by religion are dupes, ignorant, and stupid and should be made fun as often as possible. But people who believe that if they pick paper bags or drive a hybrid are going to change the climate of the entire planet are great minds?:D
Most individuals don't have enough sway to achieve much, but as parts of collectives, individuals can achieve a great deal. There are seven billion of us on the planet, that's a lot of power if wielded correctly.

Yeah right, If all seven billion on the planet go home from the grocery store next week with paper bags the entire system of Climate on the planet will be altered.:D

Its stupidity plain and simple, especially considering the prophets of the global warming religion are carbon footprint gluttons, every single one of them. The ultimate do as I say not as I do religion, preaching sacrifice from private Jets and limo's.:hmm:

Are you saying it's stupid because it's a religion, or because it's apocalyptic?

No, I'm saying that the same standards aren't applied by many who are as sanctimonious as any religious fanatic.

Science is not "consensus," you don't go to a caucus to vote for what you "believe" in science. The fact of the matter is the AGW crowd has not only failed to scientifically prove anything conclusively, but it is clear that many have conspired to keep scientific data from being published and have blacklisted contrary findings in a method eerily reminiscent of the medieval church.

In the meantime, charlatans are profiting off of AGW with everything from Carbon credits, to government grants for worthless renewable technology businesses reminding us of the days of miracle elixirs and snake handlers. I see no difference, it is a faith not empirically based belief system that promises redemption of the planet if we only believe, and a pending apocalypse if we don't adopt and mandate their morality. And the people being swindled by it believing that they are saving the planet by adopting the faith are just as duped as any faith healers followers.

Now for the record, like any religion some of AGW's moral suggestions have some moral value. I do think as a whole we are a gluttonous wasteful society and I do think that we would live far happier, fulfilled lives if we were encumbered with less stuff and used the resources of the planet more wisely. But I'm not stupid or arrogant enough to believe that changing my lightbulbs is going to make one degree of difference in temperature of the planet.

Well, this is going as expected.........

Profiting off of the end of times scenario is a time tested and proven institution. I'd do it in a heartbeat, but there are so many organizations that are already so good at it.

Using paper bags would be a small step, and it would have a small impact. Enough small impacts eventually will add up, just as they did in creating the problem.

Hypocrisy doesn't invalidate the idea, it simply makes the messenger a hypocrite in some regard. Hypocrisy is certainly not limited to environmental causes. There are plenty of infamous moral crusaders who've failed to practice what they preach.
