Pronounce Aguilar for me ....

+1

lakland sure isnt pronounced as it "should" be grammatically either. (Lake Land, as opposed to lack land)

and its ep ih fah nee

Q. How do you pronounce Lakland? Lake-land or Lackland?

A. Lakland is pronounced Lake-land with a long first A (note the symbol over the A in our logo). The name comes from a combination of Dan Lakin and original partner Hugh McFarland. LAKin plus mcfarLAND equals Lakland.

Yup... yes it does.

If their voicemail system says Ag-You-Lar I'll assume that's correct. I was close with Ag-Yuh-Lar at least.

.

obviously whoever did their vmail:

1) doesn't speak Spanish

2) does speak Spanish and mispronounced it due to non-Spanish people not able to SIMPLY pronounce it correctly

3) does speak Spanish but is so horribly assimilated they don't even try to pronounce Spanish words correctly - ex. my own brothers

:)

hoo-ka-r-z

HAhaha - nice.

There was an episode of American Idol last week where this poor girl was saying all these "big" words about the human anatomy, but she had only read them and never heard how they were pronounced. She came off looking like the biggest idiot. (ok, she looked like an idiot for other reasons too, but...)

When you go to talk to someone in person, and you don't pronounce the stuff right that you're talking about, you come off looking like an idiot - even if you're fully versed on all the specs of the model.

"Neodynium" and "Piezo" are two more words that have similar responses - trying to figure out what word they are trying to say...
