Punk song recommendations

A more modern take on punk than a lot of the classics mentioned which I like is Rise Against. This isn’t one of their “more punk sounding tracks” but the intro puts the bass front and center. Good tone. Good energy.

Another personal favorite track.

You made me look. 1984 pressing. And it is cherry. I may be old but I didn’t used to be. Here’s the inside:

Wow, how cool. Great record. Great band. Wish I was old enough to be buying records back then. I'm sure you're not interested in selling an amazing record like that, but if you ever are, it should fetch a pretty nice price.

Also, and I didn't read all 8 pages to see if someone listed them... but I always though Dan Adriano's bass work was really good in Alkaline Trio. Pop sensibility but not too poppy. Appropriately dark. He doesn't overplay, but it's not "simple". Also a great singer songwriter, Dan. Anyway, I apologize if someone already posted them.

I don't think any of these were named above:

The Vibrators were pretty awesome, and melodic - Gary Tibbs (Code Blue, Roxy Music) played some bass for 'em.

Big Black and Naked Raygun were Chicago bands. Albini in the former later had Rapeman (Scratch Acid rhythm section) and now Shellac, and there's still a punk aesthetic.

Jesus Lizard.

Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Bauhaus, were Goth-punk, along with Lords of the New Church.

Suicide (Alan Vega) was its own thing.

And then there was G.G. Allin ...

Jesus Lizard has great driving bass lines! You're clearly a Chicago guy too ;) Naked Raygun was one of my favorite bands growing up.

The Clash London Calling (Full Album) Isolated Bass Track
"Played by Paul Simonon with a "Fender Precision" and an "Epiphone Rivoli" through an "Ampeg" stack and then recorded with a "Neumann U87". Patched by Mick Jones. The bass Paul played is reported at the end of the tracks' names."

Hello, I've been listening to the Stooges and the Germs lately and was looking for recommendations for punk songs to learn?

If you don't mind drifting into post-punk/hardcore, dive into anything from Mike Watt (Minutemen), or Joe Lally (Fugazi). There's some good currently active hardcore/punk stuff happening all around you. Deadcross, OFF!, etc. Check out Ipecac Records, Think Fast Records. Enjoy the rabbit hole.
