PYPB 44: ...like Tetris with boxes, wires and cables

I'll be posting my board over the weekend probably. I somehow managed to add an entire expression pedal while keeping nearly the same amount of free space. I'm not sure what to put into it.

I'm really hoping moving to a tube amp will knock a couple pedals off my board so I can fit the whammy on. Only time will tell. I didn't think I would mind putting it on the floor but it's such a hassle. I never even use it at home.

Killing gods

Mine, but it looks awfully basic compared to what's here.

FS-6 switches banks on the ME20-B. The Behringer preamp is there for a little boost when soloing. The Zoom A3 is used for my NXT upright. The AB-2 switches between the 2 instruments.

The crazy thing is I can foresee freeing up even more space within the next year. A Digitech Drop could replace my Morpheus Droptune---that would be like 1/3rd of the space. Source Audio's Digital Expression Pedal could knock the two expression pedals off of my board. I've thought of rehousing my Digitech FS3X's through a friend who has access to a 3D printer. Suddenly I would have room for another 5 or 6 pedals. It would go exclusively to fuzz/dirt or synth/weird stuff. NOT GOOD FOR THE WALLET.

Woot! Finally have the newest iteration of my board and a picture to prove it!

Daughter board or amp (see below)

Controllers:
Source Audio Dual Expression Pedal is controlling the BSY600 with the option to control the Manta
Source Audio HH3 is controlling the Manta and the Line6 M5
Ernie Ball VP Jr. 25k is controlling the Modfactor and I'm going to set up the MIDI so that it's passed to the Pitchfactor as well
Digitech FS3X #1 (lower left) is controlling the Pitchfactor (flex, bank down, tuner)
Digitech FS3X #2 (middle) is controller the Modfactor (brake, bank down, tap tempo)

And introducing the daughter board...

Okay, so it's a bit underwhelming...literally one pedal and one controller. But here is the plan.

My big board will run into the Infinity Looper. The Looper is controlled by the this1smyne 25k stereo expression knob for various functions (it's in the lower right, it's hard to see due to the poor lighting in the picture). I plan to a get a TRS two-button auxiliary switch which controls undo and other functions. The other primary pedal that this board is awaiting is my Beat Buddy. I'm planning to get another TRS switch for the Beat Buddy for its extra functions and connect the Beat Buddy and Looper via MIDI. Unfortunately, neither the Infinity nor the M5 do MIDI clock thru (I don't know why the M5 doesn't; the Infinity doesn't even have a MIDI out jack). So if I want to connect MIDI on the two boards, I'm going to need something else like a MIDI splitter. In any case, this daughter board will be my at home "band in a box" so that I can practice and do fun things. For the time being I can't imagine taking the daughter board out with my big board, but in the future who knows?

Just wired this up, ready to start writing patches. There is a DI out right after the tuner in case FOH wants a dry signal, can't really see that in the picture.

I've had an incredibly similar board idea growing in my head for awhile.

I think this type of SA execution might be the most efficient way of having soooooo many spectacular sounds at your feet. My board is about half of this idea.... I'll post soon.

Care to share the signal chain? What's the little bronze guy? Dope board.

Big shout-out to Source Audio for sending me some cool stickers and also picked up a daisy chain so now my HH3 controls the Orbital as well. Vibe + HH3 control of speed = instant Leslie speaker with brake!
